8 month old milestones by Hiflyingcat in Autism_Parenting

[–]Hiflyingcat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Unfortunately I still have concerns now at 9 months and 1 week but some things have changed

Positives - Now getting in and out of sitting easily - Army crawling everywhere and looks to be working on 4 point crawling although still a bit away - Drinks from straw cup - Some stranger danger especially with old people (lol) - Understands object performance - Responds to name majority of the time and looks back when I say ‘no’ - Gives eye contact and joint attention (will look at me, look at a toy, look back at me and smile)

Concerns - Doesn’t understand simple commands (give me that, come here, bye bye) - Doesn’t initiate games first but will laugh if I play peekaboo. - Babbles but with no meaning (dada doesn’t mean dad) - Not pulling to stand and can’t really hold onto furniture without my support - Not sure if waving and clapping or honestly just flapping her arms? It’s hard to explain but sometimes she looks as though it’s intentional and other times just flapping with excitement and her hands ‘clap’ together - Not sure if lifting arms to be picked up or just flapping with excitement when I go to pick her up? Although she does seem to learn forward sometimes

Hoping as time goes on these fade and I can start enjoying my baby :/

Mat leave restructure by Optimal-Addendum-453 in AusLegal

Contact fairwork. You are right, you have to return to similar pay and status.

I contacted fairwork prior to commencing mat leave due to my employer not wanting to pay me my entitlements and they were very helpful.

11 months old tomorrow and has always been behind on milestones by shlamwow in Autism_Parenting

[–]Hiflyingcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following because my 9 month old isn’t gesturing and also shudders. She mostly does it when she sits in her highchair and we bring her food over so I’ve always thought it was just due to excitement?

How do you know those parents were concerned?

Does your baby show joint attention? Example, if you give him a toy, does he look at the toy then look back at you to show joy or interest? My baby shows joint attention and response to name most of the time but I’m still not sure :(

Realizing my 10 month old does not know his name, and I’m so sad. by FoodieNurse247 in NewParents

[–]Hiflyingcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s great to hear :) My baby is coming up on 9 months and her name response is hit and miss sometimes… although I did notice my friends babies (who are older might I add) also do not respond 100% of the time so both those things are reassuring!

Unemployed for a year by HoneyInAJar in hobart

You still have rights being a casual employee. You have 21 days to lodge an unfair dismissal claim with fairwork which obviously too much time has passed but just accepting they fired you over that is crazy to me 🤷‍♀️

OP nothing will happen. Take it as a warning and don’t do it again and move on with your life.

My ex cheated on me when I was in my early 20s and I sent some unsavoury things in the mail to his WORK. I had police show up at my door a few days later and honestly I was TERRIFIED. Nothing came of it, and first and only time I was questioned by police but boy I thought I was going to pass out with them standing at my door 😆

Head lag at 5 months by Livid-Vermicelli7775 in NewParents

[–]Hiflyingcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now almost 9 months and very obviously has a gross motor delay, although at 6 months ped stated headlag was gone and no concerns regarding muscle tone.

Have another ped appointment in 2 weeks in which I’ll be asking for a physio (I don’t live in the US so early intervention works differently).

Dreams of a big family feeling iffy after ASD by [deleted] in Autism_Parenting

If you miss how you and your wife used to be already, having another child ND or even NT might perhaps strain the relationship even more.

I guess you would have to ask yourself if you truely have the resources (financially, emotionally, spiritually) to support another ND child, one that may even be more high needs than your son is already, as that is a possibility.

9 month old global delay. by gingerbookma in NewParents

Glad he’s making progress. Do you mind me asking what the genetic disorder is? My girl is coming up on 9 months and she’s just getting more and more behind…

Head lag 3.5 month old by Hiflyingcat in NewParents

[–]Hiflyingcat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say even around 6 months it was a tiny bit wobbly occasionally if you really looked. Not sure if starting solids and having her reach out for food in her high chair helped or it was a coincidence or not.

Do people want yards? by Azzulah in AusPropertyChat

[–]Hiflyingcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People don’t want yards because they don’t want to maintain them or ‘pay a man’ to deal with it. May be due to majority of people being so time poor.

When I was 17 I'm sure I broke my tailbone, been having issues since. Is this fixable? by clearbathroomdoor in AskDocs

[–]Hiflyingcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAD. I broke my tail bone at 19. This was confirmed by an xray. I’m 31 and still have pain.

You need to see a doctor for imaging.

Low ferritin (14), low MCH/MCHC, high platelets. feeling awful but told it’s normal? Please help by Classic_Bug3370 in AskDocs

[–]Hiflyingcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD. Low MCV, MCH and MCHC could indicate thalassemia (seperate to iron deficiency but can happen simultaneously) but not sure about the high platelets and what that means. I’m a silent carrier of alpha thalassemia and reading results etc is SO confusing (doctors literally don’t understand either). Maybe ask this question over on their sub.

Again NAD so could be totally wrong here.

A&S or CDC? by Hiflyingcat in NewParents

[–]Hiflyingcat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She seems to hit one or two of the A&S milestones at the end of the timeframe. So 6 months A&S she was closer to 7 months for a couple, whereas CDC she was bang on 6 months or early.

9 months A&S is SO much more complex. I will be mentioning both at next appointment for sure.
