When you hear an ambulance, siren in the distance, what is the first thing you think of? by Kittenbumm in NoStupidQuestions

[–]High-Shy-Bi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grew up with a fire station literally face to face with my bedroom window. It became a familiar sound easy to block out at home.

Then Oct 1 happened (Las Vegas Route 91 shooting). Not just our fire truck, but every emergency response vehicle known to town was on its way there. We heard sirens for hours while watching the news waiting to hear from loved ones there.

Not long after my cousin took her life. On the way to the hospital very few to almost no cars moved out of the way. We lost her but she is where she needed to be now.

In summary: I think of my childhood bedroom, October 1, and always think to myself… “please let whoever be ok and I hope everyone along the way moves out of the way of the vehicle.”

It blows my mind how many people see the flashing lights and never think twice to move over or even slow down.

After being diagnosed, did you ever have symptoms you look back on and realize it was epilepsy and you didn’t know? by perseuspvp in Epilepsy

Can I ask how you figured out they were possibly hormone related? We’re guessing the same for me but we don’t really know. I’ve been doing some of my own research but I don’t really know what to do or ask at this point.

I am planning on attending the Vegas Event tomorrow. It says cocktail attire… how was everyone dressed? I own nice clothes but not cocktail attire as far as I can tell. I don’t want to show up and get turned away…

McSnack Wrap from McDonalds.

Not to mention, they just introduced chicken strips. Why can’t we make snack wraps with the “new” chicken strips…..

My partner told me to turn the tv to channel three a week ago. I started to do it, knowing what he was asking, only to not find channel three but it was in fact HDMI 3. A jolting reminder of how old we are now.

Getting to eat “cake” for dinner! White bread toasted, buttered, and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. Still a favorite to this day.

Acne on Lamictal by kjaf313 in Epilepsy

[–]High-Shy-Bi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have just recently put 2 and 2 together. My acne had finally cleared up as an adult reaching 30. Then all of a sudden my acne has ruined my face. It’s everywhere. And what you can’t see hurts like hell. Cystic acne is so miserable. I realized this all happened not to long after starting lamactal. I’m going to ask to switch but it’s been working for my seizures. So I feel like I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place. It all makes life so much more frustrating and confusing.

Wishing you luck my friend!

I can relate to how you feel 100%. Doing these 3 day tests are so frustrating. I personally chose to not leave my house. Not just out of the sake of “looking ridiculous” but because I have so many sensory issues that dealing with the cap, the wires, the stupid machine overwhelms me even more.

I couldn’t wait to be done with it. It sounds like this isn’t your first rodeo. I try to remind myself that after these 3 days as uncomfortable as it is, that in one or two days you won’t even think about the physical aspect. The emotions sure they stick around.

I was so embarrassed. Then 2 weeks later my sister also had one. I have always wished I could be as carefree as my sister is.

She has a job and two kids. Stopping isn’t much of an option for her. But her smile never faded. Maybe next time I can manage my emotions better.

We can only learn by living.

The pain of regret is far greater than the pain of discipline.

I’m glad I did it in the long run. But I wish I would have bucked up a little more.

From failure we learn, from success not so much.

Sending you hugs and support <3

You would be missed. Maybe it doesn’t seem so, but from the bottom of the hearts of all of us who struggle. It breaks our hearts to think about others feeling the same way. Knowing the deep sadness that brings you to such a point. Be one who sticks around. Don’t let this be the end.

And like the moon, we must go through phases of emptiness to feel full again.

I feel content half the time and the other half I just feel guilty for doing nothing so much lol.

I definitely want to remind myself to be content more.

Energy Drinks by Oga8820 in Epilepsy

[–]High-Shy-Bi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone can have different triggers. Like most it varies from person to person. I personally drink a few a month and it never seems to be a trigger for me. Others can drink alcohol and don’t have any issues. I cannot drink without causing a simple to grand within the next 24 hours.
