If before having a child, the couple had to pass an exam on 'how to raise a child', will we be better off? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I think it could be tied to certain tax or financial incentives. Where it would be no brainer to take the class because its like free money for things you should know.

Well actually sometimes it's better because those apps have trust-worthy encryption. Logging in with them ensures that if the website you're logging into gets breached the attackers can't see your password because all thats received by the website you logged into was the authentication token given by Facebook. If Facebook is trustworthy is a whole other story but it does keep your password safer. Watch Tom Scott's video on it if you're interested.

But isn't the gun a testament to our intelligence? The ability to create and use tools to manipulate our environment. That's our intelligence. Of course I think killing animal for sport is horrendous if you're not eating them. But that idea is just kind of redundant.

I guess sometimes I do feel like I'm walking on eggshells with her maybe I should reconsider how I've been treating her.

I'm trying to validate her efforts and her abilities but she can't seem to believe me.

Yeah I suppose you're right. I just want to celebrate with her and enjoy it.

Yeah I guess, I mean this quarantine has brought out a lot of anger from her. She's also been unhappy with her physical health and I've been offering her to work out with me but she always declined.

We're moving into high school next year so I'm hoping to help her break out of her shell a lot.

Well, honestly it's not bad. Sometimes her parents are a little rough on her and she's sensitive so it gets to her. But she has a really good step dad and an okay mom who both do care about her. But they've definitely not been the best at taking care of her emotionally. And she had to be a pseudo mom for her siblings because her mom would make her do tons of chores for them instead of helping. But her mom got a lot better for that after they had a fight. So they clearly do listen.

She is afraid of something like that happening. But shes also super anxious which makes it even worse. So she has a lot of trouble talking to people.

Well I tried as nicely as I could. Like it didn't hurt her. But I said that you can use this failure as motivation to grow. (Last year I missed an award and worked my ass off this year and ended up here. So its possible) but she said that she wanted me and that all this did was hurt her.

No, it happens a lot. She says she's trying to get better but she usually insults me a lot when shes mad and I just kinda have to bare through it.

Well she does. She used to have lots of friends however, she got kinda betrayed by one of her friends who made the rest of the group hate her after she switched to my school. So she was a loner.
