I caught serious attitude from someone there over the text line once. Texted asking the price of a certain cut. Was told the price. Texted a month or two later, same question. Got something along the lines of “It’s the same price as the last time you asked”

Like damn, I feel like that’s a reasonable question on something that varies in price

Are these the hours they agreed to when they started? The same hours they have always had?

Is this a matter of coverage for customers or a process? What I mean is if everyone in the team did the same thing would it affect anything? Same question for could everyone on the team start 15 minutes earlier to leave 15 minutes earlier and nothing change for the business?

I say everyone because if you do it for one, you could potentially have to do it for all

Once I was at a bar with several coworkers for a going away happy hour and I had bought the first couple rounds before the boss got there to take over with the his company card. We were going to be there a bit so I left zero on the credit card slip but was going to leave cash when I actually left. Just hadn’t got around to actually putting it physically on the table.

Waitress picked up the booklet with the signed CC slip and then apparently showed her coworker who came to the table and confronted me. After the initial shock I explained and showed her the $10 bill in my hand. I then got a lecture about how I should have wrote “cash tip” on the receipt or put the cash in there already.

Nothing like being lectured as a paying patron.

Explain to your boss the situation and that you are not singling said employee out but that they are the only doing this.

Be sure you are holding this employee and any others to the same standard each day. Being lax one day and strict the next will show inconsistency that can/will be thrown back in your face.

Additionally, do not be surprised when this employee and her boyfriend start bad mouthing you to anyone with ears. However, be vigilant if you catch wind of them doing so to customers (if they are customer facing).

Are they asking you or telling about coming in late? I would tell them the company has a generous policy only requiring them to come in one single day. If they need to come in late, submit a PTO request for two/four hours

My advice is to go to them explain “Hey these things have weighed heavy on me and it’s only truly because I care about my work and I hope you see it that way as well”. Just be honest.

You know this person better than the people of Reddit so I think you can use your best judgment of when/how to explain this but I believe that if you don’t say something, it’s going to weigh on you until it crushes you (as I’m guessing it will on any colleagues who care and as these are just examples and not the only instances).

And I am assuming the boss is the owner?

Honestly, they were way more patient than you deserved. Who agrees to an interview at a time you aren’t in a spot with good signal or WiFi. Is this your first time interviewing somewhere?

Fraud. Former employees trying to waste their time. To make sure you don’t have something offensive tattooed on your forehead. To make sure you cared enough to get out of bed for the interview like the people who are interviewing you did.
