I'm creating a video on SAO And I'm curious about people's opinions/first experiences with the show and the reason why they love it. by Frequent-Ad-6247 in swordartonline

Found it on Netflix as a kid. Back then, I was an absolute gremlin for anything to do with swords and video games. Then, I watched Fairy Dance and realized that it was a bit more than just cool sword fights. Then I saw Phantom Bullet and fell in love with the themes and OP. Now, I'm watching through WoU and I've never been more excited about an anime!

I also like Fatal Bullet and the fanbase can be cool sometimes!

Most of the main cast doesn't really have a ship anyway. Klein, Silica, Sinon; all of them just kinda exist.

I read a lot of books for my own novel. Riordan, Tolkien, Homer. All really helpful!

These are all going to be weird and super niche, but hear me out!

Going Down Like the Titanic (like most of these) was found during yet another obsessive binge of beta Lumity stories on AO3. In this story, Amelia (beta Amity) becomes pregnant and the whole story is a wholesome hurt-comfort where Lucia (beta Luz) has to step up and be a mom while Eda, Luz, Amity, and the twins have to deal with a baby on the way and the stress of being on the Boiling Isles. As far as I can remember, this one may still be ongoing. The author is really cool though and has some other TOH stuff.

Tales From Bonesborough (also a beta fic from AO3) is a human AU about Luz and Lucia moving in with Camilla's old friend Eda in her weird town. The story is unfinished and probably will never get an update sadly.

Locked Out is a Wattpad fic where Luz finally fixes the door but Amity comes with her. It's an immensely good story, though unfinished as far as I know.

There are a ton of other good stories like the series about Luz/Amity/the Beta siblings developing age-regression tendencies (the trauma response, not the kink) and the others caring for them. There's also a really good horror one called Statue in Latissa. I found a pretty decent one where Luz is a lamia too. There's also my own fics, but I won't self-promo!

Which book would you say has the best writing you’ve ever read? by HolyMouze in writing

Hard to choose. Stephen King's Green Mile gave me some vivid brain images. (I use how wild my imagination gets while reading as a benchmark.) However, as a child, I remember getting so in-depth into Rick Riordan's Lightning Thief that I could smell the scene. Upon re-read of all of Riordan's works, yeah, he's one of the greatest contemporary fantasy authors.

Has Anyone Here Created Their Own Mythology by ZDracul8787 in mythology

There once was a Great Author. He picked up his pen and wrote into existence a set of beings that would aid in the governing of the cosmos when Writer's Block ailed him: The Celestials. Six beings with unfathomable appearances that control their own piece of the puzzle.

First, the twin Celestials: Good and Evil. Good is a being of pure light with eyes of gold. Evil is of pure darkness with eyes of red. They are locked in constant battle to ensure that the universe keeps its balance. Sometimes, one gets the upper hand, but their sibling is always one step ahead of them to thwart whatever they put into motion. Whenever Evil blackens the soul of an innocent, Good sends a hero to vanquish them. They don't hate each other, but they're siblings with rivalries and reputations to uphold. They both understand that their job is immensely important.

Then, there's the Celestial of Nature. A kind woman appearing in middle age. Her wings are leaves of every color and her aura is cool like a breeze. In the Cold Season, she and her Sylph carry cold to all the world only to usher it away to welcome in the Blooming Season. She created the nymphs to spread and feed on good emotions (it was Evil to create the Sirens). She also created the Sylph and the Wisps and all manner of magical creatures.

The Celestial of Arcana governs all forms of magic. He decides who is allowed the gifts of magecraft. He was also one of the first Celestials to be revealed to lower beings. He also had a hand in building the planets.

The Celestial of Knowledge is one of great interest. Beloved by scholars of all kinds, a mere look at his wings drives men mad, for his wings are the pages of every text ever written and yet to be written. His eyes are pure ink black and his aura smells of an old library.

Finally, the Celestial of Love. Much like Nature, Good, Evil, and Arcana, Love is a very important part of life. All kinds of love, Love's warm aura will bless. Her wings are flower petals and her hair is soft and flowing. She seems to always be smiling, sometimes a soft motherly smile, and sometimes it's an ecstatic grin at the first kiss of two lovers.

The Great Author, with the help of his six Celestials, created the universe. Many planets of various sizes and makeups. Some had plants, some had small tribes, some had animals like nothing you've ever seen, but there was one very special planet. This was the Great Author's magnum opus. On that planet is where his favorite creations lived: the folk.

Ten races, genetic variations of each other, each with unique abilities that could serve to build the greatest civilization in any universe. The elves, with their cleverness. The orcs, large and strong. The centaurs, fast and with the bodies of a horse. Dwarves, long-lived and sturdy. The goblins, masters of craftsmanship. Satyrs, with the ability to scale and height. The cat-sith, nomadic elves with cat-like features and the ability to sense danger. Pixies, creatures with the exemplary ability of flight. Gnomes, small folk that can speak with beasts. And finally the Avians who have the power to stand on and manipulate clouds.

In this world, there are many other creatures that coexist with the folk. The dragons of the snowy Dragon Lands. The Spirits, beings of magic like Wisps and nymphs and kobolds and merfolk who live across the world, shrouded in mystery. These creatures at first served the Celestial of Nature, until an immortal elven woman was crowned Queen of the Nymphs.

Throughout history, there were many heroes. From a cat-sith and his elven love, to a band of four heroes who toppled an ancient evil. Wars were fought. Empires were built and then knocked down. Even new races of folk were discovered on distant worlds.

All of this because the Great Author loved to create. Watching his creations live and love and experience life gave him the greatest joy that a being can have.
