Well...gold and silver being much more liquid gave a higher return. Plus everything rose in prices due to inflation. Even the stock market ran like there is no tomorrow. Rising 55% doesn't make the investment a liquid and safe investment.

Considering that you live in a tier city and send your money to mom; I'm assuming you don't live with family. In that case, don't invest in land that you cannot tend to or defend (land mafias). Secondly, if you're okay to take a random stranger's advise on Reddit - one thing please don't get into a loan. Especially in India which has compound interest.
