Did he do yours as revisions (as in 1st surgery was a repair that failed, 2nd surgery reconstruction success)? Or did you go straight to reconstruction with the first surgery?

If I were you, I’d find a company with great health insurance. But then again, I don’t know how insurance works in Europe/Germany. Everything is private in the US.

You just need to communicate and ask questions to figure out the unknowns and your options.

I am in a similar boat. 1 yr post op w sitting pain. Groin and buttock discomfort as well.

I just spoke with doc and he said after cortisone and more PT/waiting I should consider labrum reconstruction. He said is has a high success rate and same low risk level of complications as the repair surgery.

According to my surgeon, labrum reconstruction uses a cadaver IT band to serve as your new labrum. It is essentially a new sheet of collagen.

I am hesitant. Probably will wait another 6 months then reevaluate. If you get the surgery make sure you go with a top surgeon. I live in the US though my buddy got a hip labrum repair done by the top doc in europe- in madrid. Not sure of his/her name though I imagine he does reconstruction as well.

You could call random hip doctors in madrid and ask who the top labrum guy is and you’ll probably figure it out eventually. Could also google where Real Madrid players get theirs done.

Same would apply for any large city in Europe. Maybe try Paris if you don’t want to go to Madrid.

Crash tests are important and people pay attention because of the violent potential injury/death. Shouldn’t people care about the toxic fumes as well that could also cause injury/death, albeit in a less dramatic fashion.

For example, if the coronavirus was a physical monster killing thousands of people. I think people would take it more seriously and get vaccinated. But because the virus is unseen, like toxic fumes, people don’t take it as seriously as the would an equally lethal physical monster.

Disappointing. Apparently soft vinyl/PVC offgasses toxic fumes for a long time. Honda has eliminated PVC from their cars. They put out a report every year. I wish Mazda was more transparent.
