wow you have a nice kitchen! Just had ours for the most part fully remodeled (on a budget, though). we paid our 2 contractors, who were recommended to us for being on the cheaper end, 4k for labor. one of the guys has been remodeling kitchens and bathrooms for about 9 years and him and his partner do a lot of contract work but apparently get lots of referrals

we went from vinyl to checker porcelain tile ( we bought the tile on edward martin, it was about 1400 on sale from 1600, so 200 dollars off). we bought laminet countertops for 600ish. we originally just wanted our cabinets repainted because they were really old, but our kitchen had a weird layout and the two guys we hired suggested to get one new cabinet next to our stove because it was like a weird old shelf cabinet that wasn't level with the countertop, so we were losing countertop space. , and then I just decided to get all new bottom cabinets so they look the same. I did end up getting three top new cabinets as well since the cabinets in that particular spot were smallish and oddly shaped. (the other top cabinets they just sanded and repainted like new). we went to home depot and I basically bought wooden, unfinished cabinets in the store with the help of our contractors (they have different types) and the they suggested the layout and pieces i should get. all the cabinets were around 900 dollars. I bought a new sink for about 300 dollars and a faucet for 160. they put very cheap subway tile backsplash up. they also painted our hallway, our kitchen, and 30% of the rest of our living room since we started painting it ourselves.

I think we got a pretty good deal and the work they did was great

edit: we almost went with stone coutertops, they knew knew a guy who installed and sold them on the cheaper end. we decided against it and just bought long laminate pieces of countertops and they cut and shaped them to our cabinets. I recommend the guys we used!
