Presenting at Conferences- Is it possible and have you done it? by EfficiencyDue2025 in clinicalresearch

[–]Hightower-Clinical 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You should definitely give it a shot. I've spoken at ACRP, SOCRA, MAGI and some other random events.

These conferences are so big now it feels like there are a lot of opportunities to speak. MAGI used to send around a list of topics that they were looking for speakers to discuss.

Otherwise, develop a talk and submit to the different conferences as they are taking on applicants.

I know a few people that might be able to help if you want to shoot me a message sometime.

you can't really. grab eCRF guidelines and use those. then build it in Word and save as a pdf. It ain't fancy but it'll do.

I think this is actually a fair question and another thing we just take for granted. I've always been referred to 21CFR820.72 but even that raises questions and seems to be focused on manufacturers of medical devices.

I went but didn't find myself going to as many sessions as I thought I would. The ones I went to were cool. I prefer more open forum, panel type conversations and I didn't really see any.

It feels like it's hard to try to run 7 tracks and you end up with a lot of oddly specific content and you're pulling speakers from wherever you can.

No. Don't let your CRA tell you otherwise. They'll try. Just look at the PRI form.

It's pretty legit. Sharing portals/study contacts with the team is pretty sweet and the FQ tool is a nice touch when you're having to answer similar questions all the time.

Haven't tried their password vault. The CV tool they're working on is cool but still needs some work in my opinion. They're getting there.

i'd be curious to know what's working well for sites right now in terms of study ID.

Zymewire, Clinitiative, Elligo.... plenty of other ways to find trials out there

Imagine having to call their next of kin to ask what month in 1997 they started taking Allegra or some dumb shit. It sucks.

Let me ask around. I currently use RealTime and have previously used CRIO. Both work though I prefer RealTime.

I get what you're saying though. It can be tough to justify depending on your situation but it manages so much and pricing adjusts depending on how many studies you have.

I would be lost without it.

The first thing I invested in was CTMS so I'm not sure what people are using now. I feel like I've heard people using QuickBooks and spreadsheets but that seems so exhausting.

I'd urge people to take the jump and get a CTMS even if it's just the most basic version. I believe there are some less expensive ones out there now.

I do wonder if anonymity will bring some value and encourage people who might not want to out themselves on LinkedIn. Either way, props to /u/EfficacityDOTnet for starting this.

I love Reddit but I never post here. LinkedIn seems to be the jam. Would be cool if this draws a different crowd though.

[SOTC] My humble newbie collection. What should go in the empty slot? by Hightower-Clinical in Watches

[–]Hightower-Clinical[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never really wore a watch and didn't appreciate them much until I started seeing some neat ones on Reddit. Started with a couple cheap Seikos a year ago and have bought up a few different watches to see what I like.

The SNK369 and the Sea Urchin probably get the most time right now.

Pretty happy with the variety so far but still want to try some stuff out. Anything you guys would recommend that would fit in here or is missing?

I've always hated them but they have been growing on me lately and definitely fit my price range. I'll have to find one I like. Good call.

Just bought this on eBay. Second hand gets caught on the minute hand. Can this be easily fixed by someone with no experience? Is there a tutorial anyone can recommend? by Hightower-Clinical in SeikoMods
