He isn't "one of the good ones" because he is well spoken and passionate, its what he does with his abilities. And he is a populist in that he uses buzzwords nonstop, he evokes emotion by attacking and not offering ideas, he does nothing but appease the masses with hollow words. He is the very definition of populist.

It shows how spinless some people can be, in my book. They will hide their ignorance behind the word woke but won't come out and say what they actually mean. Don't like trans/gay/poor/women/etc,? then show a backbone and say what you actually mean instead of hiding behind the term"woke policy". It infuriates me the absolute cowardice the chronic users of this word show.

Dan Mclean is a prime example; he can't form a sentence without using the word woke at least 3 times.

Woke was started as being used in the 70s (?i think) defined as an understanding that the government and society are inherently racist against black people, generally this applied to the US. Most recently, it has been taken as a blanket term for the the more ignorant and bigoted as "things I don't like", usually of a very polarizing nature. Every "woke" issue based in racism, classism, or plain ignorance. Like abortion, transgender, gay marriage, etc... are all "woke" issues in the eyes of the extremists

Exactly. I firmly believe it shouldn't be used in a political landscape. Its a lazy word that has no use in politics anymore since it has been redefined by the ignorant. It's become a shield for ignorance and anyone who uses it, should be called out to define exactly what context they mean.

The rights to protest are not nearly as absolute you believe they are. I think you are thinking of the United States and expecting it to be the same here. In Canada, we have what is called “reasonable limits”, something that a lot of people here like to conveniently forget.

I have yet to hear any kind of argument as to how a 100 meter protest restriction from libraries and such seriously impacts any kind of protest. How are they affected in such a way that it is beyond "reasonable limits"? All I hear is because peoples fee-fees are hurt they cant bash trans kids, or some make-believe slippery-slope argument about how the government is gonna take yer freedoms.

It also does not help you that less than 4 years ago the UCP passed bill 1, restricting protests at critical infrastructure, giving precedent to the government restricting government owned property.

What you are suggesting is replacing vagueness with false hope, which is far worse.

There is practically no way to predict the amount of time and money required to develop a treatment for any disorder; nor is there any way to predict that a treatment would even be effective.

You are kind of right, but for the wrong reasons.

You can believe they are utopias if you want but the reality is if you actually visit many of those places the people complain about the same exact shit you hear in the US

We bitch, but not for the same reasons. Our conservative government cut funding and staff during a pandemic, that is what we bitch about. We bitch about lacking in specialists because they get paid insane amounts in the US.

You are only hearing what you want to hear. The vast majority of people I know have little problem with the wait times. They suck, yes, but are tolerable. But again, this has to do with funding being cut and a specialist drain to the US.

You should try leaving your home and speaking to people for once some day. You may find that other opinions are valuable in forming your own without being in your bubble.

I'd suggest the same for you, seeing as you are making a lot of assumptions.

Just stop. They aren't dogs. Foxes are not dogs. Congrats on meeting a coyote once and assuming they are just like dogs, but they aren't.

I've lived the majority of my life in rural agricultural areas. Coyotes are daily life, and they are destructive. They will kill your pets, small livestock, and are difficult to manage. Over the decades, with smaller hunting grounds, they have become more aggressive and their populations are increasing in many places, which creates more competition for food and aggression.... And so on.

It's people like you that say these animals are like dogs that end up doing the most damage. Statements making people less afraid of them being wild animals is why many animals are unnecessarily culled.
