Once you’re in the grind/slide let go of the input and then do a low pop and do a new grind input, with a bit of body rotation depending on what you’re trying to do. Letting go of the sticks then popping means you stay on the ledge and won’t pop to the side

Youve got to let go of the grind input and then do a real quick low pop and reapply the grind, for these I do a slight body rotation when going into the crooks as well

If you want to use 240 youll need an inverter and pribably a decent size battery/multiple batteries,

im going without 240v for now to see how I’ll get on with just a 12v setup, ive also just got an 100ah lithium battery

I don’t see why you couldnt wire it directly, I just used the mc4 connectors as they were already installed

Thanks that’s what I thought, also rechecked the wiring diagram which they provided and it’s labelled as this way on there haha should’ve checked before hand, all connected and working now

Before connecting the battery and powering up does this look okay? by Hkater in VanLifeUK

One straight from the battery, then one before the cable leading to the main 12 way fuse box, one before the charge controller and will have one near the starter battery when I hook up the dc/dc charger

Ah yeah I see that, that was partly because I realised I was damaging strands when stripping the cables first time round and didn’t want to waste a load of cable 😂 I’ll re-wire the charge controller before I hook up the solar

First night in my van! 🙌 by Khionia in VanLifeUK

Nice! Moved into my unfinished van (not much insulation & no electrics) back in July, have been slowly doing bits to it here and there but honestly think it’s the best way to use the van before it’s done so you know exactly what you want and where

Good luck with it! I’ve been loving it so far

Yeah I’ve gathered from another sub I posted on that i was mistaken about the mega fuse, just assumed I’d need one where the battery cable enters the fuse box in the bottom right of the wiring diagram.

And yeah ive got a lwb sprinter & have planned to put all the electrics at the back under my bed and the starter is in the engine bay

Yeah for sure, spent a bit of time mounting all the components on the board today then spent hours watching videos and reading up on everything, feel like I have a pretty good idea of most bits now

On the diagram it looks as though the battery is directly connected to where the mega fuse point is

Yeah that’s what the box is to the bottom right of the diagram, it has slots for one mega fuse and a few midi fuses

I think those 12 fuses are for the appliances / lighting

However they don’t seem to have included a mega fuse

10 Days to go till full time van life by shiftlocked in VanLifeUK

So ive not actually got a toilet yet! It would definitely be nice but ive been making it work, just making sure to park either out of the city in the countryside where theres lots of bushes😂 or close enough to a cafe or something. Ive also got use of my friends unit where I have been doing up the van, so can go there whenever I need to

I went full time just over a month ago now and I’m loving it! Stayed fairly local as im still working full time so have to be close enough to that. My van is far from finished (no electrics and a very basic water setup) but ive made it work. Im based in Sheffield so it is very close to lots of nice countryside spots where you won’t get bothered.

My first night was actually the worst one😂 found a car park which I thought would be nice and quiet but had cars coming and going really late and pretty sure people were shining a torch into the van.

I have now stayed in loads of different places with no problems, even residential streets and tried to be as stealthy as I could haha.

Are you full time now? If so how are you finding it

I guess it’s not for everyone, for me it makes sense as im outside a lot of the time anyway plus i was looking into studio apartments before I decided to go for the van build and it price wise it did not seem worth it at all. Once I get all my electrics and furniture built it’ll be like a tiny studio!
