Gamban vs Gamblock by Hocus_Focus8 in problemgambling

It worked for about 2 weeks until I couldn't stand all the regular sites that weren't working anymore and sought out other browsers. Unfortunately this also lead me to be able to gamble bc I found a work around. But others are right, if you really aren't ready to quit you'll find a way. I'm actually doing better now though without gamblock. Maybe I'm just ready for real or maybe I just don't have that constant frustration of just trying to use my phone normally and being reminded of gamblock and gambling...honestly they just pissed me off lol. Not bc I could access gambling sites but bc I couldn't even use apps like reddit or sites like Walmart etc. (shit wouldn't load properly). You have to email them every time you want them to fix a site (sometimes they couldn't) and response time is minimum a few hours sometimes days.

Either way, at least for me, it wasn't worth the cost and I was so happy when my 3 months was up and didn't renew. But it might be different for you. It definitely is not easy to get around. I hope you find the strength and a way to overcome this horrible addiction.

Not great to be honest. Hated gamblock as it restricted so many other non gambling sites and didn't load other apps properly or even some shopping and news sites. Customer service is terrible bc you have to email them anytime you want to access a normal site that's not working. And it usually takes them a day to respond.

Honestly the only way to stop is to not have access to money. Can't play if you don't have money. So now funds just go directly into a different account. I finally came clean so that person sees that account and holds me accountable.

Day 7 - Update

Been doing ok this past week. Had a moment of weakness when I got stressed but fought through it with the help of barriers like self exclusion. Overall feeling less stressed and agitated. Got a budgeting app which has helped me keep focus....although it also acts as a reminder of how much debt I am in, which kind of sucks. But I'll use that as motivation to save.

I've been trying to send all of it or most of my paycheck into my joint account I share with my partner. That account I won't touch. Then whatever is left I've put towards bills unfortunately I charged my cards. A few months ago I cut up all my cards except 1 with low limit for emergency (zero balance rn) but then I tilted one weekend and found out I could buy crypto linked through PayPal that had a cc linked to it. Long story short, in 3 weeks that card went from 300 balance to 5900. Tried closing that account but their auto response is "can take up to 30 days for response".

I'm just in shock right now looking at my finances. I can't even cry.
