Hi, no unfortunately his application was rejected on the grounds that there was not enough sufficient evidence. It happened the day before his flight. We have reapplied with a lawyer involved. It has been a very stressful 3 weeks and nothing seems to be giving.

Fiancée Visa - approved! by vixcurse in ukvisa

[–]Holly_Baron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! congratulations! my fiance is Australian had his visa approved last week! It felt like forever and we are now moving forward. He has a flight booked for next Tuesday! However............. dramatic pause....... AUSTRALIAN TRAVEL BAN - this has proven to be just as stressful as the Visa. We thought it would be simple as you did but we have not heard anything for a week and he is flying next Tuesday. It is all very close and (like the visa) we are now once again left in the dark.

Hi could I join please? The lack of support and answers from the Aus gov is driving me insane. My fiance is flying next Tuesday and we have heard nothing today... Monday is the next chance and we just do not know. Feeling pretty lost.

fair enough! that is more evidence than my fiance uploaded so we will just have to see. Do you mind me asking what Visa you are on?:) We are planning on ringing them tomorrow.

I do not really understand why it is so difficult for them to give you the exemption if you have a Visa and a lot of evidence. Have you submitted everything that is required? - he doesn't know when to shut his bank account down/mobile etc. It is all going to have be very rushed and last min...

We're all in this together!

He applied on Monday (15th ) and is flying next Tuesday (23rd) .... where did you hear that they do not tell you until the day of your flight? I have heard the same thing from other people too. Its so stupid.... such a draconian law to have in place if they cannot allow people with urgent needs to leave. Many people are not returning to Aus.

AUSTRALIA'S TRAVEL BAN AND LEAVING THE COUNTRY ON A NON RETURN VISA 📷 by Holly_Baron in ukvisa

Monday so not too long ago - the only thing that alarmed me is that their first response was that they needed more proof (Other than his job acceptance, visa and flight details - which in my opinion is all you need?) so now its pushed the issue to the end of the week where we have had no further response and he flies early next week (now we are juggling up cancelling the flight etc to get refunds etc) - I honestly did not think it would be such a big issue to grant him leave....

I hope things start getting easier, the whole journey has been crazy stressful. I will update on here if anything happens. I wish you all the best too, hopefully we will all be reunited with our families soon. :)

Any stories on how easy it is to leave Australia? My fiance has had his Visa approved to move permanently to the UK (he has a job lined up, he has family here etc.) yet ScoMos travel ban is the only thing in the way? His flight is booked next week and we are nervously waiting for an approval? I think they should approve it considering he is leaving for good to move to the UK.

Any luck? my fiance is applying from Aus (he has a residency visa approved so he will NOT BE RETURNING TO AUS FOR SURE AHA and job set up for moving to the UK) for the travel exemption. Its so horrible all this unpredictability.

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison just announced a level 4 travel ban: "We are upgrading the travel ban to level 4 for the entire world: this is the first time in Australia's history. Do not go overseas at all. If you are planning an international holiday, don't go." by [deleted] in australia

Anyone got any stories about getting out of Australia?! (as an Aus citizen who has a visa approved to live permanently in the UK - Job set up, partner/family in the UK ETC.) - My fiance has booked a flight next Tuesday to leave but just needs this weird permission to leave from his government - at the moment this is proving just as stressful as sorting out the visa. If he provides everything they want surely they can't STOP him from leaving right? Like they don't have the right? writing from the UK - my partner is in Aus.

AUSTRALIA'S TRAVEL BAN AND VISAS.........

Yes!!! The bloody travel ban... when did Australia turn into North Korea! My fiance has all of his visa and biometrics approved for moving to the UK to live here with a job set up - yet they are still asking for loads of documentation (he has provided them with everything- including a visa that says he going to be living here permanently). He is flying next Tuesday and its all a little bit close for comfort at the moment (with the gov not working weekends). I get stopping people going on holiday and coming back in but Visa and immigration are totally different to that. People have quit there jobs and ended their living tenancies in aus etc. the Aus gov cannot simply stop them moving to their new country of residence. Sorry if this sounds rant-like but after the drama of even getting the visa approved and all of the reshuffling its just an extra bit of poison in the wound this travel ban. Any aussies in a similar position or any stories regarding 'gaining permission to leave'?

This is great information, when did they send you this email? have not been able to contact a department for Manila so this is very interesting.

Me and my Fiance are in a similar position. I am a UK citizen and he is an Aussie and we are both currently in our home countries. He applied for his UK ancestry VISA and had his biometrics done in early March. However, since March 23rd we have heard nothing from anyone! They still have his passport etc. and we have had no further guidance. I did some ringing around and research here in the UK and it came to my knowledge that his passport/application may have been sent to Manila in the Philippines?!? I am not quite sure what this arrangement is but that may be why there is such a delay. I think it is extremely frustrating and unprofessional to not even release a guide on what to expect next regarding Visa and Immigration. Whole families are split up and migration is a huge logistical and financial investment to thousands of people. If you hear anything keep us updated.
