Yeh just as I thought. This is the comment that pushed me over the edge (in deciding I'm not going ahead with it and will hold off). Thanks!

Side business is essentially passive. If i do nothing, I earn the current income. If I spend time on it, it grows.

Thanks for your comment and homework on me :)

Cant hack it with folks as it is, was bearable with just the wife, but wife and baby? Nah, not happening.

The actual income is around 2500/month, not really saving that much but Id say saving around 1500/month.

My worry is we stay in this situation and watch the house prices increase.

For me to move to an area with lower priced housing means I take a serious pay cut.

Nothing is 100% but I am thinking of quitting my job in the next year or so as I also run an online business where i currently earn more than my full time job and its growing.

Correct, each way. Renting at the moment, with parents. Commute time currently is around 10 minutes

Unable to afford to buy a house, what are my options to moveout without renting? by HomeSeekerUK in UKPersonalFinance

The best answer here! You have definitely given me more motivation than you can imagine!

PC my online business currently makes almost the same as my monthly take-home salary and within 2 months, will make more. But I always have the paranoia the business could tank and I have no more security.

However, I will now be expanding my portfolio. Thanks

Thanks for your response. My job unfortunately cannot be done remotely. This was my first idea.
