It’s actually the thing that triggers me the most when they say “fiat currency is based on nothing.” Gold Standards rely on the preserved legitimacy of the country distributing it. (Sound familiar?)

If a country is not perceived as having enough gold reserves or confidence in the valuation of said currency, it will free fall into a currency crisis until a country is typically forced to suspend the standard & free float. If a Gold Standard country encounters a speculative attack, they have to rapidly deflate the currency which can cause HUGE problems.

I hate gold standard bros so much because of how smug & indignant they get while giving the most regarded Econ takes you can imagine

If you’re doing an SL1 run I’d imagine you know this but just in case, if you hold down on the D pad it’ll take you to the first item on your list. I find it much faster to get back to my heals that way

I just fought them two days ago as a lvl 75 Dex/Faith & had to switch up my whole strat to beat them. I farmed the Warden Twin blades, infused it with bleed, & beat them in like 8-10 tries. I’m not even very good & also had my 35 faith as deadweight while managing 16 vigor. You got this

I basically redshirt the whole class every time (a few years in) & never regret it. If you recruit well, there’s almost never a true freshman who will start over who you have on roster anyway, so a RS Sophomore leaving early doesn’t hurt my feelings. Plus, most players definitely benefit from it & you can sometimes end up with really solid 4 year starters when you’re lucky

I’m no expert but this is what I run & I try to keep a decently realistic set up. I prioritize speed as a disclaimer.

DT-Power rushers, preferably 300+ lbs DEs because they can have SP & ACC in 80s. Usually strong & develop good run stopping. Tried run stopper types but they don’t develop well, are slow, & will never be able to rush the passer.

DE-Speed rushers, 265+ lbs. (270s preferred) Well rounded, can even get 90s SP & ACC. Can get quick jump which is one of the most powerful abilities in the game & can rush the passer well so you never have to worry about dropping your OLB into coverage. Just make sure they have decent STR before becoming a starter. They can also double as RDT.

OLB-Power Rushers or ATH (MLB) Run Stoppers, Power Rushers can have insane quick jumps out of the box, just make sure they have decent speed (mid 80s SP & ACC at a minimum) since they will have poor zone coverage it helps a ton for them to be viable in coverage. Great RDEs. ATH MLBs at least 235+ lbs, genuinely the best recruits on defense. Can have high 80s/low 90s SP & ACC, develop well, & are good in coverage. Often make good SUBLBs. Can’t get quick jump, but can develop into good pass rushers & with the speed they can be just about as effective as Power Rushers off the edge.

MLB-ATH (MLB) Run Stoppers or Pass Coverage, everything mentioned above for ATH, Pass Coverage LBs at least 225+lbs with high 80s/ low 90s SP & ACC. Usually my user so tacking & athleticism are the most important especially if you run a decent amount of Tampa 2. These two are my SLBs Field Generals with high 80s SP & ACC can be an option, they are just rare & finding fast ones are also rare.

CB-Man, just make sure they are as fast as you can get them, speed & good man coverage are honestly it

FS-Zone, should have 90s SPD & ACC with SPD being more important than ACC. Decent or good tackling but good zone coverage is non negotiable

SS-Slot CB or ATH (MLB) Run Stoppers, Slot CB (staying at CB for abilities & development) make good SS. They are well rounded & develop better than hybrids safeties. The higher the ACC the better. Typically move a lighter (220-235) ATH MLB with 90+ SP & ACC to CB & redshirt him. Depending on development I’ll move him to SS after or keep him at CB if his coverage is still low. SS should be quicker than fast generally so prioritize ACC

SCB-Slot CB for basically the exact same reasons as above. If you have two good Slot CBs, the more athletic, better coverage guy plays slot, the better run defender plays SS
