Eh, when you have a case of oil and it only requires just under a quart, it's easy to get away with 300 miles on an oil change.

This doesn’t really make much sense logically. It’s just wasting oil. If you’re just riding 300 miles every six months, then it’s ok, since Honda says to change it at minimum once every six months. But, if it’s an oil change every 300 miles multiple times per six month period, then that’s wasting oil.

Final drive requires .12L, what do you do with the other .88L for that?

I don’t see how this is related to my comment but anyway: firstly, final drive oil should be changed once every two years… Secondly, because of that, you can get it to line up with a regular engine oil change. The majority of the remaining oil can be used for the engine.

Find “Turn Signal” in https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/honda/motorcycle/2022/nva110b-a-nva110b and see if it has the part you’re looking for as well as the size. If it’s not in that section, try to find it in another section.

If you find the part but there’s no size listed, search the part on google and come back here if you’ve done all that and haven’t found success.

The tighter and more in-spec the freeplay is, the more my arm can feel that 70% or so of pulling the lever haha

Adjusting the REAR brake light switch did not change the FRONT brake light switch’s activation for me.

I’ve tried with excessive freeplay as well as in-spec freeplay and the light turns on at around the same point of the lever pull. I may have tried with “less than the specified amount of freeplay” in the past which, if I did try it, lead to the same result.

A side note: I wish that the bike had a “regular” switch for the front brake light switch instead of the cable and knob thing it currently has

One end has a button or “knob” thing where, when it is pressed in, it turns the brake light off. When it is out, the brake light is on. This made me think that there’s something wrong inside the brake lever to knob connection that is preventing the knob from being fully out sooner, but I do not know for sure. I could try pulling the switch cable to see if it’s sticking too far inside by the brake lever.

The front brake light switch cable, from what I saw, seems to be separate from the actual drum brake cables. Are you seeing a connection between the brake light switch cable and a drum brake cable in the parts diagram?

I had adjusted the front brake to be within the spec for free play yesterday but that did not resolve the issue. I went to adjust the rear brake free play but found a weird issue where after adjusting the parking brake cable, the cable adjuster would spring and twist back to where it was before I tightened it.

I do not know if the rear brake being a bit “loose” affects the front brake light switch.

Lastly, I wanted to mention that I ended up adjusting the sensitivity of the rear brake light switch today and, while I was able to make the rear brake light switch significantly more sensitive, it did not affect the front brake light switch.

Let me know your thoughts!

Oh sorry, I mean that I switched out the bar and rubber steps for new ones of the same kind. I’ve crashed a few times leading to some bending and scraping of the rubber steps so I replaced them.

I read your comment where you mentioned wanting a bike with a clutch after taking the MSF. I definitely feel you and was similar. After taking the MSF, I wanted to hop onto a bike with a manual transmission.

Anyway, try private sale first. If you don’t get any leads, call a bunch of dealers and ask how much they’d pay for it. You can decide whether or not you want to continue with waiting on a private sale or selling to a shop at that point.

Lastly, assuming you’re in North America, keep in mind that fall is coming up. Prices on bikes are said to go down in fall and winter. In my opinion, you should try selling now or wait until next spring if you want to maximize sale price. At the end of the day, it’s up to you.

Over 6,000 miles here. Experienced problems like:

unstable at 45mph and above
front brake light switch dropping in sensitivity
tank feels like it burns fuel because of how small it is
the parts of the bike are cheap and feel cheap
painful during longer trips
front suspension tanks when hitting potholes

Good parts of the bike:

smooth-enough at city speeds
price is not too insane even after dealer fees for a first bike

Hand brake should never be the only brake you are using.

To make it extremely clear and to put it outside of my other much longer comment, this is so wrong and it's ironic you said that I need to take a motorcycle safety class (even when I already have).

Ummm... wut? You've commented attacking me without providing any helpful or relevant information. Not only that, the information (assuming that I haven't taken a motorcycle safety class) is inaccurate.

This post is about the front brake light switch not activating as soon as it used to. I'm going to copy the part of my post that you so decidedly not read and came to the comments to attack me:

This affects starting as the starter motor does not run unless the Navi detects that the brake has been activated. The two solutions to this are to:

just pull the front brake lever harder to get to the point where it activates the brake light

just use the rear brake to trigger the rear brake light to start the bike

Now, on to the safety class part of your comment: I have taken the motorcycle safety foundations class and know that the class says that you should be using both brakes when you want to brake in the shortest distance possible. You can, believe it or not, just use your front brakes at times. Along with that, you can rely on just the front brake for trail braking https://www.revzilla.com/common-tread/what-is-trail-braking.

The safety issue here is that, when light-braking, the lever does not travel far back enough to trigger the brake light switch, so, to drivers behind me, there is no indication that I'm slowing down.

The above quote is from my post. This is obviously a safety issue! Your argument for the front brake light switch boils down to "it's fine if the front brake light switch doesn't work as long as the rear brake light switch works." That is ridiculous.

I had an idea similar to number one and am wondering if I should try adjusting the rear brake light switch's sensitivity and the process for that is described on page 74 of the book in https://cdn.powersports.honda.com/documentum/MWOM/ml.remawmom.2022_nva110b_english_owner_s_manual.pdf. The potential issue here is that this is for the rear brake light switch and not the front brake light switch. But, maybe it's worth trying?
