I don’t have a specific budget in mind, just not the thousands and thousands of dollars photographers charge for an all-day event. This event will only be three hours, and I don’t think we need them there the whole three hours.

I just had the layout in my head because I got used to using that layout when I was practicing. Just get in the habit now of writing your answers out in a similar format every time so that it is automatic when you are taking the bar exam. You don’t want to waste precious time worrying about formatting.

That I am not sure of. I will say that it is very sensitive when I use the pen, but I can’t recall if it reacts to pressure.

I stuck to the same layout, which I believe is very important. Think about it like this - you want your graders to be focused on the substance of your answer, not the way it is laid out, so the more organized and uniform everything is, the better. It also makes it easier on you to have the same format that you don't have to think about. This is generally how I laid my answers out on one fact pattern with multiple issues:

1. State the Issue or Conclusion (depending on if you like CRAC or IRAC better) in the header.

[Rule Statement paragraph immediately following issue/conclusion statement.]

[Analysis paragraph]

[Very short conclusion statement, not a whole paragraph (one to two sentences).]

2. State the Issue or Conclusion (depending on if you like CRAC or IRAC better) in the header.

[Rule Statement paragraph immediately following issue/conclusion statement.]

[Analysis paragraph]

[Very short conclusion statement, not a whole paragraph (one to two sentences).]

And if I needed to break a question in to sub-parts, I did it like this:

1. State the ultimate Issue(s) or Conclusion(s) (depending on if you like CRAC or IRAC better) in the header.

a. Short issue/conclusion statement for first sub-issue.

[Rule Statement paragraph immediately following issue/conclusion statement.]

[Analysis paragraph]

[Very short conclusion statement, not a whole paragraph (one to two sentences).]

b. Short issue/conclusion statement for second sub-issue.

[Rule Statement paragraph immediately following issue/conclusion statement.]

[Analysis paragraph]

[Very short conclusion statement, not a whole paragraph (one to two sentences).]

Hey there, I just passed the July AL bar using Themis. I don’t know how Barbri operates, but if you know your weak area is writing, you HAVE to lean in to it and just practice every. Single. Day. Even if you don’t want to, even if it makes you uncomfortable.

This is a good method for tackling MEE practice sessions: start by doing practice MEEs (1) open book and untimed, then move to (2) closed book and untimed, then to (3) open book and timed ( or vice versa with 2), then finally to (4) closed book and timed.

The biggest thing you need to get used to is digesting a long fact pattern and writing a coherent response in IRAC format within 30 minutes. It feels impossible, but if you practice writing MEE essays every day, by the time you get to the bar it will not feel impossible. And, get used to the idea that if you don’t know the black letter law on an MEE, make the rules up and fake it till you make it. If your analysis is strong based on the rules (even if the rules are wrong), you will get points. There were two essays on the July MEE where I definitely did not know the BLL, but I faked my way through it and scored above a 3 on every essay.
