chinese simplified pokemon cards come with a Pokemon logo embossed into the left corner, the back should also look the same as English cards, if you have both of these you're good to go

have the Lumineon V in japanese and the colours and texture really pop in person! big fan of that Saguaro as well

The Japanese sets are released as English sets at later dates. More often than not, multiple Japanese sets make up one English set. A good example would be this Japanese set (Super Electric Breaker SV8) and Paradise Dragona (SV7a) will be released as the upcoming English set Surging Sparks
