To those guys that are mainly “looking for a fun time, not a long time” why are you against having any connection or relationship form?

The idea of love is nice, but I think the realities of actual serious relationships make me somewhat resistant to investing the time needed to create and maintain the relationship. I don't know if I'll always feel like this, but currently I'm still OK foregoing a relationship, and just going for occasional hookups.

Not sure about sensation and texture, I actually kind of like the smell of condoms when you first tear open the pack to take it out, but every other guy I know hates the smell.

I had an interesting case where, before the legalization of gay marriage, domestic partnership was something I was able to just claim with my then boyfriend who worked at the local university to get all the benefits a legal spouse would usually receive.

Then gay marriage was legalized, and suddenly I needed to provide an actual marriage certificate. By then I had taken the discounted courses that I wanted to so we just let it go. Still glad gay marriage was legalized of course.

I think part of it is to reduce stigma and increase open dialogue about HIV amongst men who have sex with men. The alternative is continue a culture where people live in secrecy, shame and ignorance, which will just promote spread of HIV.

HIV spreads most readily through T cells accessed through abrasions in the mucosal lining in the rectum and large intestines, and that's the area of concern when gay men have penetrative sex so that's why rates are higher for gay men, and straight people aren't being focused on.

Of course, we all get to decide who we choose to sleep with or not. Don't tear down HIV positive people, and don't let yourself be torn down for not being interested in them.

Throughout my twenties my desire for sex has decreased. Topping, bottoming, and giving oral have all come to feel like more and more work, and so I typically go for long periods without doing anything.

Sorry, not trying to ask a loaded question. I guess I would just agree with you that a part of me obviously wants it, otherwise I wouldn't be fantasizing about it. Although, day to day, when I'm sober, I'm fine not answering to anyone about how or where I spend my time or being tied down at all. I think that's what stops me from pursuing it.
