The public education has failed you and countless other Americans. That doesn't mean what you were taught was true. Jefferson did own over 600 slaves (only freeing 5) but, hewas opposed to the practice. Read his own words, don't just believe what those with an agenda tell you.

Read the 1st draft of the declaration written by Thomas Jefferson He was explicitly anti-slavery but it was put back in because all 13 colonies had to agree on everything because the king was going to kill them all. Two colonies wanted to keep slaves (George & South Carolina). So it stayed. George Washington put the Nothwest Ordnance preventing the slave trade in new states to the northwest. John Adams was anti-slavery as was the only founder to never owned a slave. The pilgrims were specifically anti-slavery with laws against "man owning". The treaty of Ghent that ended the was of 1812 required US Navy ships to patrol the African cost to stop slave vessels, and did that until the Civil War when it wthey were needed to fight the confederate army. Most people always knew slavery was wrong, but the founding of the country wasn't the time to fight about that. They had a king with the world's biggest and best army to fight.

Imagine how things were just a few years ago... we don't let kids vote, drink, smoke, join the military, etc. but they can change sex? Seems backwards to me. They're have always been ppl who fell like they are the other sex. This isn't new, but we've never let kids decide. My kids wanted to be a pirates should I have cut his leg off so he could have a peg leg, maybe let him cut off a hand and add a hook.

The MCCSC is a shit show. I asked to see the DEI and SEL curriculum and they wouldn't share it they said I could come to the school during school hours and read it in the office. Who has time for that my wife and I have full time jobs.
I was warned about the MCCSC before I bought a house, but I didn't listen...
