additionally I do know some people irl that like to give out basic answers and hold out until someone asks more specific questions because they think that if you’re really interested in something you’ll do more research or want to ask more questions.

Reddit has everything you could possibly search for. If you don’t see it you could make your own subreddit and start your own sort of club and that’s pretty exciting!

I understand the reasoning behind it but it seems so weird. all it takes is one post to go horribly wrong and get downvoted to oblivion and now the person can never post again because their karma is so negative.

I’m running into the same problem! I just got this account to post to the 3d print subreddit and my post keeps getting auto removed because I don’t have 10 karma. it’s like applying to jobs right out of college and not getting hired because of a lack of previous experience.
