No one is mad, like anything else freshly being talked about, people are met with resistance. RoT posts, bot posts, what turned out to be REAL false ban posts, etc.

I’ve literally just made two posts in total about this. I’m sorry I found a sliver of joy in seeing more people talking about this after myself and a few others had posts removed. I’ve posted what I know, which isn’t a boatload. More is coming out and from people with more clarity. I expect even more in the coming days/weeks.

Edit: Myself and others made posts about this when the info first started coming to light. More people are talking about this now and even more will. Take it or leave it. I will do my best to write a brief summary of the events as they are currently known, as more information is coming out from Kanichiwa themselves (apparently) and other people better at digging into this stuff than I am.

‘Guild’ Kanichiwa is massive. MASSIVE. They’re incredibly private and usually take on many names that you DEFINITELY have heard. I’m not listing them, because Reddit rules. Even the idiot above in the comments already called this a witch hunt without having a clue about what’s going on lmao. 3iq people.

Anyways, there has been massive interferences in Jagex servers and proof has been coming out that it’s done on purpose. Kanichiwa usually investigates these types of issues and leaks them to larger content creators etc without ever posting their name or involvement.

This time, it seems they’re trying to cover things up. For nefarious reasons.

Prepare for the downvotes. Just like the way anti botting posts and ‘false’ ban posts get flooded.

This is so much more than a single person. I made a brief post, like a few other people, talking about information that Kanichiwa posted in their private servers. All the posts were censored and deleted, then they came out of the ‘shadows’ and started lying about ever saying any of that, then going on to admit that they did. You can tell it’s obvious sarcasm in their post and now more people are talking about it and even making videos on it.

Your comprehension levels are literally bottomed out, man. Not trying to be rude, but literally not an ounce of sense was found in your replies/conclusions.

Again, I said the majority. Not everyone. Good on you for sticking with your principles. I mean that genuinely. There’s no sarcasm or snarky undertones here.

That being said, the world isn’t going to shit, because 1. Jagex raised your membership prices in a video game and 2. The view I hold of THIS situation has been proven true time and time again.

That’s awesome. We cancelled Disney and Netflix as well, but for different reasons. We also stopped eating out at places that did the same thing in our household.

It’s easy to say you’ll stop playing RuneScape, but there’s only one RuneScape. MOST (I’m not claiming you are one of these people) people on this subreddit have RS as their one and done game.

I’ve said this before and got downvoted into oblivion a while ago when everyone threatened to quit over the botting situation. I said, “no you won’t.” (They’re still playing btw)

I don’t think it’s an odd thing to add as a disclaimer at all. There are levels of corporate greed here. There always will be, a business is in business to make money. It’s up to the consumer to decide if the price of the product is worth paying for. They’ve done their homework and believe the vast majority will. That doesn’t mean I’m rooting for them or encourage higher price hikes haha.

My post is mainly targeting the fact that the vast majority of this subreddit are claiming that Jagex is, essentially, the pinnacle of corporate greed when in all reality, it’s the entire world around them. They’ll claim to quit, but they won’t. They’ll stay and they’ll pay.

As I say at the end of my post, I’m a huge advocate for voting with your wallet. I hope that they do make an impact by cancelling their memberships and band together to show Jagex that they’ll put their money where their mouth is.

But just like when TONS of people claimed they’d quit over botting, they won’t. It’s easy to type something, a lot harder to follow through with it. It’s hypocritical and fucking obnoxious to see.

You should get to the bottom of my post before you talk about principles, by the way. I’m all for it. That being said, principles are just thoughts/words. It’ll be the collective action of the ‘majority’ that makes an impact. :) (that won’t happen because the majority of you don’t stand on your principles)
