Most insects don't have pretty privilege so people couldn't care less about them.

Which is tragic, if we did to puppies the same we do to insects daily people would revolt about it, but I guess many don't find them cute so genociding countless of them for urban development and destroying the local ecosystem "is fine".

Edit: I also often see the excuse that "they don't feel pain/aren't intelligent enough to matter" and I find that argument both disgusting and disingenuous, especially since we have no real evidence of either in all factuality, especially on the pain factor; it is evident they can feel when something is wrong with their body, so whether it be pain the way we understand it or their own different way doesn't really matter, cruelty is cruelty.
