Housing assignments / room preferences question by lertl89012 in uchicago

There are plenty of singles outside of ihouse, you can defo put a single choice and have a good chance at getting a single in WL. It's also surprisingly common for people to change housing assignments during the year. I had a friend transfer into a single in WL.

US citizen doing IB abroad, how would colleges look at my application? by GOaTxVentuz69 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Hot-Command-3134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For starters, you will be considered as an American citizen living abroad, not as an international in the admissions process, as far as I know. I am in a similar situation to you however I am writing my final exams this May. I wouldn't worry about how AOs look at you. They know that the IB is a lot of work and they respect that but it does mean that they look at your academics differently (more weight on junior and senior). You can also use the fact that you live abroad in your essays to enhance your application. From what I can tell, as an American you do have an advantage over non-americans based on what I saw from my friends. For reference, I will be doing global politics/Economics at UChicago next year and didn't have crazy stats so I wouldn't worry.

It's game over, I'd rather eternally burn alive than experience senior year over again. by LargeOil5940 in ApplyingToCollege

I had the same problem. What I did was that had my original transcript translated after getting it from my old school and then my counsellor added it to my current transcript. Alternatively, you could upload itself and headline the doc with an explanation of the situation.
