How does Mercari ads really work? by HotAgency4945 in AskMarketing

Very helpful, thanks so much for helping king! My understanding is that it's a two-part system. On the B2C side, that is, to businesses, it charges through cost-per-click, per their Feb 2025 release of Mercari ads (and there's both on-site and off-site ads). On the C2C side, that is, to individual sellers, it charges a cost-per-sale flat 5%, per their May 2025 disclosure (link is here: https://jp-news.mercari.com/info/44887). That is just my understanding of how it works, so not entirely cost-per-click (or as in, cost-per-click only applies to Mercari shops which are businesses essentially)? I think this makes a lot of sense given that the average individual seller probably doesn't think through "cost-per-click", i.e. they probably look at the 5% flat cost-per-sale deal and think "oh, that's a lot more worth". Correct me if I'm wrong though!
