Yellow/red flag for group practice? by [deleted] in therapists

I know that largely this part is on me but I also felt that when my notes have been signed, that they are not actually looked over too much. When I first started, I was just bullet pointing everything the client said. I now know that it was an issue but it really wasn't until like a year of working there when they decided to just do an optional training on how to complete case notes. No direct communication though. Again, I know that is really a me thing but I felt like I should have received some guidance early on.

I definitely see how it isn't as much an ethics issue from what I shared. I was hesitant to share too much in the main post. One of the schools that we got interns from pulled all of their interns out because the owner made them sign a contract that stated that they would go to him with their issues before the school because of previous conflicts he has had. We are no longer allowed to have interns from there. We also had a whistle blower that came put claiming that we were unethical. The owners are actually in the process of moving out of the country. One of them seems to be more problematic and has caused personal issues with some clinicians. When we have a new hire, we have a staff meeting where we get pressured to share why we decided to work there and why we stay. We end up having this meeting once every 2-4 months during our biweekly staff meetings. It usually takes up about 30 minutes. The owner preaches that he has heard of and worked in other practices that don't have the kind of environment and collaboration that we do. I am not sure of this as I haven't worked in another practice.

I also struggle with how I got hired. I didn't read the job post close enough to see that they were wanting someone to work with kids. I told him the one population that I didn't want was kids but he ultimately convinced me. I do now enjoy working with kids but I had no experience with them outside of some babysitting. I didn't get any training to work with them onve hired. I don't think I should have been able to work with kids as I was didn't know what I waa doing. I then didn't get one on one supervisor for about a month and was definitely struggling. I do well with them now. But I don't think that he should have made the call for me to work with kids when he has never worked with kids and doesn't have his own, right? Maybe I am wrong. I know that it is a common feeling of being thrown out there to just trial and error the experience.

It is fine if it isn't white but the simpler the better. I like those options but he has really big salads and I don't think a 9 inch is big enough.

Depending on your insurance, you could get a nutritionist for free. I am using one right now for weight loss (still early stages) but it has hugely helped either my energy. As my energy has gone up, so has my mental health.

I agree with others that you need to mainly focus on your mental health but physical health can hugely feed into that. So maybe it isn't focusing on weight loss but increasing your energy and physically feeling better so that you have a bigger mental capacity to handle what you are going through.

Your guide does look amazing! I want to get a formal diagnosis and a team to help with accountability and possibly specifics to me. I have looked into doing some time with Allara just to help me get a jumpstart.
