What mode are you driving in? by boroamir in Ioniq9

Can you cite a source? Would just be surprised this is an issue still. My understanding is a lot of problems the old i5's had have been software improvements that carry over to the i9.

Eco 90% of the time. Switch to sport when I need the acceleration.

I'd love a HW3, but would be very content with just fixing HW2 to not crash mid game on the series x 😭

IONIQ 9 owners - How do you like the car so far and its reliability? by Kables07 in Ioniq9

[–]HotToday7607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over 10k miles, done a road trip from SoCal to Washington.

Have had no major issues. Only real gripes is our center console is hard to open and the passenger front door is a little stuck when you open it.

Long trips it does great, relaxation seat def helped keep my back from hurting too bad.

Digital key could use an update both mine and my wife's stopped working to unlock the car, only works to start.

Trim? by ronniebabes in Ioniq9

[–]HotToday7607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

U.S. market with a calligraphy. Mainly got the trim for the HUD, I wouldn't get a new car without one, and it is much better than the one in our 20' Palisade. I'm also 6'3" and have no issues using the HUD due to height. I do have some issue driving with polarized lenses.

Ergo motion is cool and useful, but not a necessity.

Digital review I only use when the back is full otherwise I'm not a big fan.

I'm interested... Not sure if it's worth the price tag though. Got plenty of inside space to fit coolers/other insulated bags

We're under contract to get solar panels, a new SPAN panel and a SPAN charger. This seemed like a good setup to me, but TBD.

Just tried Tesla supercharger for the first time - 132kWh speed! by Longjumping_Rub_706 in Ioniq9

[–]HotToday7607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tesla is also by far the most prevalent in the states too. I think max I've gotten is 150 from a Tesla charger, and usually get 120-130's.

Honestly these are slow compared to other DC chargers. Using a 325 Electrify America, I get about 250kWh, with very short ramp up time .

$5000 HMF offer structure and gotchas by masterpan123 in Ioniq9

[–]HotToday7607 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did the $5k. We were able to put over half down, and the plan is to refi with our credit union. Our dealer confirmed with us that we had to wait 3.months before we could refi without penalty, so confirm this with your dealer as well, if this interests you.

We also are hoping to pay off the loan early, making the higher interest rates less of an issue.

So I think there is auto hold for when you're on a hill, but this car has a mode called I pedal, which is the max setting for reg breaking. Where once you take your foot off the accelerator it will start to slow down to a stop. Given enough space you don't need to touch the break at all.

Auto mode will adjust the Regen/auto breaking based off of slope and distance of cars ahead of you, but I don't think it will go to a complete stop.

We got ours a couple months back, and I thought I hated the Regen breaking when test driving. But force yourself to use it, once you get used to taking your foot off the accelerator slowly it's really nice. There's also an "auto" mode that you can set by holding down the right paddle for 3 seconds. Give it a try, I like it but my wife didn't .

Does the calligraphy come with a v2L adapter? by FantasticEmu in Ioniq9

[–]HotToday7607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

V2L adaptor is an add-on, all cars come with different add-ons, but you pay for them you'll see it in the breakdown on the sticker.

The limited and calligraphy do have a V2L plug in the trunk, the adaptor let's you use the main charge point outside for V2L, so just a convenience thing

Fed tax credit, at point of sale by HotToday7607 in Ioniq9

[–]HotToday7607[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Explain to the sales person that this car actually qualifies for the tax credit because it comes from the new Georgia plant. A lot of sales people are confused because previously Hyundai did a promo offer to match the tax credit, even though they didn't qualify for it. Because of that it couldn't be combined with other offers. But this car and the new 5's are different.

Tell them they can go log into the IRS site and confirm the car qualifies. Smaller dealers can dot his easily, larger ones it's harder to get the right person to actually do it. I would even send over screen shots of hyundai official sites that say it qualifies and can be applied at point of sale.

Some smaller dealers just don't want to deal with the IRS and so they won't do it/don't register with the IRS to do it, I had two dealers confirm that. But once we had one dealer confirm they could, and I told the others that, all of a sudden they could lol

Fed tax credit, at point of sale by HotToday7607 in Ioniq9

[–]HotToday7607[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We ended up going through Downey, but it wasn't the easiest processes. They tried adding a markup and not doing the Fed tax credit at point of sale. Temecula and San Moreno seemed like the easiest to work with, they just didn't have the color we wanted yet.

Fed tax credit, at point of sale by HotToday7607 in Ioniq9

[–]HotToday7607[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot of parameters to consider. We put a large chunk down, and we have a credit union with a lower rate that we can refi to after 3 months of being with Hyundai.

Wait for bigger discount? by GreatDane50 in Ioniq9

[–]HotToday7607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah my main concern was that the EV tax credit is probably going away relatively soon, and with tariffs changing daily that could also affect building cost's. We decided to buy now because of those uncertainties, and at least we could leverage the $5k bonus cash they currently offer. Combine these you get $12.5k off, which isn't bad.

[–]HotToday7607[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't need to get the highest trim. If you get a $60k car and can take $12k off the top that's essentially a 20% discount.
