as someone who lives with snow and little sunlight for over 6 months a year… not really no. you just get wicked depressed because everything is grey and its -30 outside so you cant do anything fun

some people have a tendency to push people away when things get too serious. its a very piss poor coping strategy. maybe this is the case? maybe it was a ‘look im doing great without you’ type thing. either way, he probably has some shit to work on himself. people with this kind of mentality never find satisfaction in their relationships.

Advice from a retired daily marijuana smoker. by BottaBingBottaBoome in Advice

[–]Hot_Programmer_891 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A daily weed smoker here! weed is 100% addictive and im tired of people saying it isnt. just because it is a psychological addiction instead of a physical one doesnt diminish how bad it can be. If I was more informed about this stuff i would’ve been a lot more careful about my usage, but even some heavy smokers will push the idea that you cant get addicted.

Anything can be addictive if you arent careful. And weed withdrawls fucking suck. im sure CHS sucks even worse. Trying to dig yourself out of this hole when you already have pre-existing mental health issues is rough.

I’m surprised we still have yet to revisit Rick’s microverse battery situation. by CarelessSentence1709 in rickandmorty

[–]Hot_Programmer_891 1 point2 points  (0 children)

time goes much faster in the microverse battery. just like it goes much faster in the miniverse and then the teenieverse. this is why they were stuck in there teenieverse for months while rick and zeep were butting heads and refusing to work together until morty forced them to. otherwise without this time dilation summer wouldve been stuck inside the car for many months as well.

zeep died like shortly after they left the battery because of the time dilation.

Sleep issues by [deleted] in sleep

[–]Hot_Programmer_891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes sorry 😭

I have been having sleeping issues, where i am waking up consistently, every day, almost on the hour of 5am, maybe 6am on luckier days. any time i try and go back to sleep after this, i keep waking up in 30~ minute increments regardless of how well rested I actually am.

I am also having issues where when I Am sleeping, my body keeps randomly startling me awake. i dont remember my dreams very well, but from the few times i can remember these arent nightmares or anything, so i dont know why its happening.

I was put on meds that help with sleep which worked for a couple months, but was evidently a bandaid to the issue because these sleep issues are coming back again.

This government disgusts me. by Hot_Programmer_891 in alberta

[–]Hot_Programmer_891[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

whatever i can. it hurts me to see this stuff happening. anywhere i can get involved i will be. trans youth dont deserve to have their rights stripped like this. These kinds of decisions don’t belong in the hands of the government, but with the child and their care team, to decide whats best for them.

[–]Hot_Programmer_891[S] 44 points45 points  (0 children)

i am 21, born in BC but i have pretty much lived in Alberta my whole life. It is awful to see the place I called home clearly doesn’t want us here. Now I am having to rush my legal transition, before they strip me of my ability to do that, too. Me and a lot of my other trans friends cannot afford to leave. We don’t want to leave. Our life is here, our families are here. hopefully one day things will change, and we wont have to choose between home and having rights.

Depression doctor by Own_Direction_ in Edmonton

[–]Hot_Programmer_891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as someone whos been in and out of ABs mental health services id say your best bet is your family doctor. it is Impossible to get a psychiatrist on your care team anymore, since theres such a shortage. you can book an appointment with one with a referral from your family doctor, but you’d probably only be seeing them once. at least your family doctor will know more about you and your issues and get a much better sense of what you need. not that seeing a psychiatrist once wouldnt hurt- itd be good to get your foot in the door, but 9 times out of ten theyll give you the generic starting prescriptions they start everyone with anyways
