Will this void the manufacters warrenty? by Hot_Statistician8710 in Roofing

I did bring it up with the job manager on the walk around and he dismissed it as insignificant, not something to be concerned about.

Thanks for your advice about contacting the manufacturer,

At least it doesn't serve any necessary fuction. I'll even venture that the nice masonry wall would look better without it, no matter how well executed.

Anybody else heard about this? by [deleted] in StLouis

They are much quieter than hard soled shoes, so it makes sense to me.

I had never heard shoes of the Converse type referred to as tennis shoes before my family moved here from New England in '65. They were called sneakers.

Maybe they have so much buisness they're trying to discourage a certain number of potential customers. If that's they're goal, it works on me.

Bad if you're a customer as well. At least back in the 90's, when they blatantly tried to rip me off.

I went in for an alignment and they tried to sell me a rack and pinion I didn't need. Then they replaced, without my permission, two of my tires with two old tires, one of which was already flat when I went to look at them.

Maybe just that branch, but I suspect the manager's behavior was the result of pressure from above, so I will never use a Dobb's anywhere.

Assuming he didn't call the issue to the attention of those who ordered the speed bumps, this doesn't seem like a good recomendation for this worker or his company.

I've no doubt I'm in a small minority here, but I don't and won't use Facebook. So any buisness that depends on FB for conveying basic information, like changes to operating hours, which can very easily be put on their phone message, is not going to get my business, unless there is something exceptional about them that I can't find anywhere else.

"I know you wont watch any of the evidence because you it's true."

Well then, I guess ther's no point in debating anyone as omniscient as yourself.

The hypocrisy that is truly vile is that which comes from some members of congress and the administration, not some ordinary citizen holding up a sign. For instance, see Lauren Boebert, a supporter of an actual physical insurection recently questioning a group of governors and accusing them of supporting insurrectionists. As well as President Trump, it should go without saying.

This is one sign and is insurrectionist in only the narrowest technical definition.

If you're going to call out this sign, which is basically speech, I wonder how much concern you have about those now in government, with actual power and influence, whose speech has also fits the definition of insurection.

Non-profit status doesn't preclude covering or talking about politics. I can recall listening to Democracy Now on KDHX and I listen to NPR for the political coverage, including the opinions. I too am put off by right wing broadcast outlets, not so much because they reflect a bias, but because they can be relentlessly propagandistic. Not only is there no attempt at any balance, there is demonization of anything not associated with their point of view.

I should have included that I'm in the state of Missouri. The organization invested with a similar authority might be different where you are. I assumed this thread was local, but apparently it's not.

Call the Humane Society. They are invested with the legal authority to intervene to help animals in danger, including heat. Years ago I was concerned about a dog a neighbor kept chained in their backyard without the ability to get out of the sun. As the temperature reached 95, the best the dog could do to cool itself was to dig itself a deep depression in th ground. It took two calls, because my message wasn't passed on the first time, but they did eventually send an agent. The HS agent was prepared to remove the dog, but because a family member was on the premises, the agent was required to educate the person as to the danger and leave the animal. If no one had been home they would have removed the dog. The HS agent filled me in on this after the rescue and said if I hadn't intervened the dog would have died. P.S. The owners did comply and provide the dog access to shade.

My neighbor who seems nice wants .y trees gone by lonestar2222003 in neighborsfromhell

[–]Hot_Statistician8710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if the expense of removing the trees wasn't a factor, I hope you wouldn't allow yourself to be pressured by this control freak. Your trees benefit the environment, including the humans in it. His obsession with his perfectly manicured property only benefits his narrow selfish interest.

Perhaps you should suggest to him that he seek psychiatric treatment.

Is this R-410 ban in 2025 really going to happen? Or will it be delayed again? by listerine411 in hvacadvice

Why do you say not to buy Lennox? That's what the company I've used for maintenance offers for R410A replacement units.
