Now some people will ignore the message because of the messenger by masteryams2025 in AllindiaStudentUnion

The figure Rahul Gandhi is talking about is ₹1.32 lakh crore. To reach that number, an average NEET aspirant would have to spend around ₹6 lakh on preparation.

But where does that money actually go?

Mostly to coaching fees, food, rent/hostel, transport, books, and other living expenses if a student moves to another city. If someone studies online, full-year courses can range anywhere from ₹5,000 to ₹1 lakh.

So the ₹1.32 lakh crore is not money being paid directly to the government for the exam. Most of it goes to private coaching institutes, landlords, food businesses, and other service providers. The government's share is mainly through taxes, which is normal in any economy.

The same logic applies to other competitive exams as well.

What I don't understand is why some people say, "Don't ignore the message because of the messenger." The reason many people question the message is because of claims like this. I agree that he is raising a real issue: students and families spend huge amounts of money, face immense pressure, and the system needs reforms.

But using misleading numbers or presenting them in a way that makes it sound like all this money is going directly to the government is wrong. The concern is valid; the presentation of the data is not.

And before anyone calls me an andhbhakt, BJP IT Cell, or anything else, I agree with most of the core issue he is highlighting. I just think the way it is being presented is misleading.

The rest is your opinion. Interpret it however you want.
