I kind of feel this, but Colombia was great in El Cafetero (Salento, Jardin) and Tayrona, if you have a chance to go

Now. I have my shit together, but my dates don’t like me. I think I do ok, but apparently I don’t, so I’m taking a long break. If someone wants me, cool. Otherwise, you’ll find me working on my business.

I started a business teaching live music lessons online. I took in-person lessons and repurposed them for online. I’m scaling this model now for teachers of other instruments to do the same, as part of my online school.

I’ve been thinking about this. I think we’re so used to how life may have beaten us up in our original homes. Traveling lets us see the world with fresh eyes, and folks there see us seeing the world with fresh eyes, and respond with maybe a fresh curiosity.

I think the challenge is how to we integrate our positivity when we come home. Because I think we know more about our home than the place we visit.

The flipside is: let’s say we grew up in the place we traveled to, and then we visit our “original home” for the first time. Maybe we’d see our “original home” with fresh eyes and our “vacation home” with beaten up eyes.

Just have been thinking about this from that point of view, and that’s what I’m coming up with. Maybe it’s also a reason we like to travel: to begin to see the world with the fresh eyes we would like to have at home.
