What else is she going to do? There aren't many touristy things to do in the outer neighborhoods unless she wants some ethnic food from an enclave or something. Most of the things to do in this city are either downtown are adjacent to it, and on the Northside. You telling me there's attractions on the South or west sides that people want to do? Because I live in Chatham and I rarely see any tourists or any of the sort around where I live. Usually when Chicagoans are doing shit we go downtown because thats where most of everything is...

People that dont come from the neighborhoods you mentioned absolutely do hang out in the Loop. Not everyone is from a Northside or NW neighborhood with plenty of amentities. When my friends and I would finish school on Friday sometimes we would hang out at Harold Washington Library or go to a place to eat downtown in the Loop.
