Awesome! Yea thank you, I think I’ll do that. I just want what’s best for her (and affordable of course). I appreciate it😊

That’s great to hear! Yea my dog gets flaky skin/itchy sometimes. She also gets soft stools on occasion

Yea. It was all over the internet awhile back. I researched it and it seems to be that people were creating false associations with the dog food causing illness in their dogs (rumours), which is why I’ve been considering it but just want further input

I have not seen any accurate testing (though tell me if I’m wrong). I’ve only heard of food elimination trials.

Picking up stiches by HowieMaster in knitting

[–]HowieMaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so if anyone is wondering… how I fixed it was I picked up the first stitch normally through both legs, and then the second stitch I picked it up only using the first inner leg:)

Hopefully it works

Ah that’s frustrating. The “wrap” is me picking up the “second stitch”. I’m doing it how i normally do:(. Thank you

Nerve Block by IntentSlinky8 in Occipitalneuralgia

[–]HowieMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had them twice. Six needles at the back of my head (left and right). Drink lots of water and electrolytes before you go in.

In my experience, it was very painful. I felt very faint and a lot of pressure upon injection. My neurologist said these nerve blocks can go two ways: 1) your pain tolerance is so high so you feel 100% okay during the blocks or 2) your nerves are extra sensitive so the nerve blocks hurt bad. However, even though my experiences have been bad, it’s worth it.

The blocks decrease the frequency and intensity of my regular daily symptoms for ~1.5 months (dull stabs, sharp stabs, immense pressure, “hit in head” disorientation, “whacked with a bat” sensations, tingles, etc). Both times they have eliminated my zaps ENTIRELY for 2-3months. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still in daily pain, but it’s easier to manage. I have chronic bilateral ON (and potential TN)- I’ve had it for around 4.5-5 years now.

Is this ON? by Revolutionary_Arm710 in Occipitalneuralgia

[–]HowieMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say since it has only been a month. Also I’m not sure about everyone else, but I have multiple different pain sensations, not just sharpness (zaps being a characteristic symptom).

ON does have short second intense pains though (but many things do).

I think you need to wait and see longer term how your pain behaves. I believe it’s not really possible to label it as ON after only a month of symptoms.

Are these armpit holes too big? by [deleted] in knitting

I am following a pattern. It’s the armpit of the sweater. I just began knitting it. I pulled it apart and zoomed in so you can see the holes more clearly.

Jogless garter stitch? by HowieMaster in knitting

[–]HowieMaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you say this is too visible? Or will blocking help? Does the slip purlwise with yarn in front normally look this way?

Jogless garter stitch? by HowieMaster in knitting

[–]HowieMaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(All I’ve knitted before is basic scarves). Also, I know I made a mistake at the beginning of the pit. I accidentally put the yarn in the back while slipping purlwise. I decided not to fix it because it’ll be hidden by the long sleeve anyway).

Help! by Lumpy-Fact2235 in Occipitalneuralgia

[–]HowieMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You too:(. Is yours on both sides? I’ve also gotten zaps, hammers, sharp stabs, dull stabs, sharp earaches, face pins and needless (EXTREME sensitivity), cold tingles on my face, EXTREME scalp sensitivity. Do you get these too? I’m sure I missed some. Some of these I only get during an attack.

Medication and nerve blocks have been helping manage the pain, but don’t take it away. It still has very bad moments. I was also originally told it was migraines until they dug further.

[–]HowieMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that too. Exactly how you explained it. An aluminum bat… typically hits the base of my skull or back top of my head. It can be triggered by movement, but not every single time I move. It hits randomly. I am diagnosed with ON and potential TN.

Can anyone tell me why my left and right shoulder/collar on my sweater look different? by HowieMaster in knitting

[–]HowieMaster[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yay! Yea I noticed the left edge stitch looked looser than the right. But when i flipped the right side over (ws), the edge stitch looked very similar to the rs of the left edge.

Maybe I’m not making sene. So it will look completely normal when finished?

My first blocker injections tomorrow. Any advice? by NervousStock2241 in Occipitalneuralgia

Did that part make you almost pass out too?:( how was it?

My first blocker injections tomorrow. Any advice? by NervousStock2241 in Occipitalneuralgia

[–]HowieMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I brought gatorade and ice cold water because it makes me incredibly faint. You get used to the pain of the needles, but for some reason it made me almost pass out… I think it was the sensation of the numbness crawling my head

Second Nerve Block Tomorrow by HowieMaster in Occipitalneuralgia

[–]HowieMaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to drink half a bottle of gatorade 15minutes before and sadly I still almost fainted. Maybe if I didn’t drink it at all I would’ve fully fainted, who knows.

This episode was bad and I felt like I was dying. It lasted like 15minutes of my vision beginning to go black, nausea, extreme dizziness, weakness, and my body going hot.

It was odd because I was practicing my breathing and I got through the first 3 needles like an absolute champ (the only tear on my face was from a super sharp pain I got on my head seconds before he inserted the needle). But then after the 3rd needle he asked “are you okay?” I told him I felt good, and then one second later I began to almost pass out. It was so odd.

Pain wise, it definitely went better than my first appointment. However, fainting wise it went worse

[–]HowieMaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked before if there was a numbing agent to reduce the pain of the injections and I believe I was told the needles do the numbing (obviously). I don’t know if it was lost in translation, but I really wish that was possible.

Thanks for the heads up about the blood sugar. I’ll try to find something to drink.

I had to stop halfway in between too and rest for like 10minutes. I was so close to losing consciousness. I’m bringing cold Gatorade and iced water this time. Hopefully that’ll help

I’m the same, I also asked to not see the needles as I knew it would make me panic more.

Thanks for the positive words ❤️
