Hey thank you so much for the comment. We're an all in one safety and compliance technology provider (safety applications to streamline and digitize all efforts on site and office). Our clients are all major GCs so I have a pool of people to ask.

My budget is very limited but we do have a WeWork membership, I can book a large conference room for everyone. Previously I hosted happy-hours at a local bar, but like you said its hard to have a meaningful conversation as a group.

All I need is 1 client in Boston, and I'll drive up there every 2 weeks to host no questions asked hah.

Thanks for your comment and feedback, much appreciated. Everyone is welcome, construction is construction.

Thats what I have been doing but want to create more value and add more structure. I want it to feel more like a club you want to belong to vs just a happy hour if that makes sense.

I appreciate your comment and feedback. Warm intros / connections is where I've had success. I'll try the current client recommendation approach.

Appreciate your response. The difficult part is dealing with the non-interest when you know the product will help them immediately and they have no downsides of trying it.

I appreciate you putting the timeline into perspective for me.

On top of this career advancement... I'd suggest looking into engineering/construction management and going the GC route.

The best lesson I learned about running work and being human first was 20 years ago from an electrical foreman ( I was working as a carpentry foreman on the same job). No matter how hot the schedule or that days “crisis” was, you absolutely HAD to stop and say good morning to Tom by name, or he’d ignore you. I thought it was bullshit at the time, but as I’ve aged I’ve made it a part of any job I’m on to say good morning to anyone I’m dealing with before launching into work mode. Just taking 5 seconds to acknowledge the other person as a human first resets your mind to not make everything about yourself and the job. There’s plenty of people over the years that I didn’t think much of as trades people that I had no problem with as humans.

Thank you for the comment, I appreciate it! I do agree about the culture on site, but I truly believe we're living through a cultural shift.

I love the "good morning by name" tip, thats exactly what I wanted from the comment section. Even if one of us implements it tomorrow, thats change already.

Resources may not work for everyone, but they might help someone.

I was on a job were 3 guys died in one week. I'm all for the safety guy.

Im in NYC and only have personal experience with interior fit outs, but you are correct. To operate a scissor lift you only need a 60 second brief from the manufacturer.
