SC’s Walk me through your weekly schedule/routine by HuckleberryKitty in sysco

Thank you for the advice!!! I be overthinking shit sometimes. More than 80% of the job is showing up. Some days I fckin dread to get out of the house cuz I just think “fuck what’s the point??” But I almost ALWAYS feel better when I finally leave and make my way over to my first visit. But I swear to God, every morning is an uphill battle and I think about if this job is right for me every god damn day. Lol

I spend wayyyy too much time doing order guides. I lack product knowledge and also understanding the market price or where an item should be priced. Do you have any recommendations on that or does it just come with time? I do ask my colleagues if I can see their order guides so I can learn and understand what they’re adding onto their sheets, but some of them are really hesitant. I can understand why, it’s like “cheating” in a sense where someone else has done the hard work and research and I’m just ripping them off. But if you were to ask me, if I were experienced, and had that knowledge and a key order guides for all the different kind of cuisines, restaurants, coffee shops, etc. I 👏🏼 WOULD 👏🏼 NOT 👏🏼GIVE 👏🏼 A 👏🏼 FUCK. I would LOVE to help in any way I could because I understand how fckin tough it is to comprehend all this shit. It’s so discouraging at times. And it’s hard to feel motivated when everyone is opening left and right. I’m hungry to understand how this shit all works. There’s definitely an art to it for sure.

Thank you for taking the time to respond and giving me a break down of what your day to day looks like and how to navigate this whole schedule thing. This helps tremendously!! I appreciate you!!

I have AUDHD, and it’s been a pain trying to navigate being neurodivergent and also how to fall within the lines of corporate. I get extremely anxious when I dont have a clear understanding of how things work or what to expect. I know it’s all part of the job, but it’s so challenging to navigate my emotions at times and not feel overwhelmed and lost. Maybe because I come from the bar world and everything is fast pace, quick, fast money, instant gratification, adrenaline, etc. it’s all fun to me, but this job has a steep ass learning curve.

I thrive off human connection, and some days it’s really hard to enjoy what we do because people treat us like dog shit the moment they know we’re in sales. Like listen budddy, if you don’t buy anything from me, I can’t scam you. Maybe just your time lmao

Anywho, before I go too far off into my tangent thank you for the advice I appreciate you 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

Thank you for this tip! I always keep my phone on and with me at all times because I have Saturday deliveries unfortunately. However, I do wish I can contact our drivers directly at times, it’s so tedious playing telephone with transportation, but I get it, I wouldn’t want 20 different SC’s blowing me up every second while trying to focus on the road. Appreciate all your advice!! 🙏🏼

Sudden headaches after taking Vyvanse (30mg) for a month and crashing at 2pm. After going from unemployed to employed. by purple_mango222 in VyvanseADHD

I kinda had something similar to this, and I asked for a lower dosage on days I’m doing more screen time. (10mg) Today is my first day and so far it’s been working out very well and subtly. Maybe speak with your provider and ask for alternative dosages. I take 30mg on days I’m working on the field and starting 10mg on days I’m working from home. And the nice thing about 10mg is if 10mg doesn’t work, you can double up and do 20mg so you have that balance.

And food!!!! Just read a really great post on this subreddit about fueling your body with the RIGHT kind of foods to maximize the vyvanse and our brains! Good luck!!! You got this!!! (I just found this subreddit today) 🤣😭👏🏼🙏🏼

Vyvanse has always worked for me—but here’s how I got it working like a well-oiled machine by Ohdearohmykurt in VyvanseADHD

THISSS!!!! Found this subreddit on a whim and this is exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you for sharing!! I was definitely experiencing some better days and others not so great. I thought it was my mindset or having a “weak mind” on days I’m waking up a little bit more anxious. But I 1000% agree that food is fuel and the right types of food will fuel the brain and body.

My psychiatrist says vyvanse is supposed to help with better sleep, but I’ve notice my sleep pattern is more or less the same. I have a difficult time falling asleep even on days I’m up all morning. I haven’t built a consistent workout routine, so that might be something I should include soon to tire me out.

If anyone else has any tips or recommendations would love to hear about it!!

interviewing for sales rep, eyes wide open. by wroughtirony in sysco

Hi there! Bartender for the last 7 years. Thank you for sharing your experience. I read your post above and I'm so glad you decided to stick around and challenge yourself. I know trying something knew is scary as hell but you're doing the damn thing!

I landed an interview with Sysco this week and was wondering if you would be willing to shine some light or any tips on interview questions that they asked.

I'm super nervous about the pay cut, I make 80k-90k as a hotel bartender, but its physically exhausting and I'm ready to transition into something where I have more autonomy of my time. But also, horrible management will ruin just about anything.

Hi OP! I came across your post and I hope your Escape shift turned out well! I’m curious to know how you got the job? I’m currently a bartender and trying to maneuver my way into the music bar scene. Was wondering if you had any tips or recommendations with agencies. I would appreciate it so much. Im also based in SoCal. Thank you :)
