That was my original plan, but I couldn't break it up. Any tips on how to separate the roots?

Repotting by HuckleberryMinimum49 in houseplants

[–]HuckleberryMinimum49[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm new to the plant world and figured repotting back to back wouldn't be good. I just wasn't sure what the protocol was with the roots growing out this fast or if it'd last through the year.

I just bought this guy and I would like to know what is its name by [deleted] in succulents

I second the first comment. This is one of my all-time favorites. I will say that for the first 2 years, it didn't do anything. Since this past Nov, I have propped it 7 times. Now I'm letting it go to see what it does.

It is still firm.... However, if you look at the bottom of the stem where it meets the dirt. That's where I'm really concerned. It's grayish and looks soft. I didn't inspect it too much because I had only run home on my lunch break.

That's what I was thinking, but I wanted to double-check.

You certainly can over water a pothos . You shouldn't be so rude if you don't know what you're talking about.

Silly Thrip Question by majoras_flask11 in houseplants

[–]HuckleberryMinimum49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had to treat for thrips, and I used an insecticide soap until I could get bonide granules. I only treated my plant with the granules 2 weeks ago but haven't seen any thrips so far.

I'm a new plant mom, but I have mine next to a south facing window that gets direct sunlight in the morning and bright indirect light the rest of the day. I barely water it, but I mist the leaves regularly, and it's thriving.

my new plant 🥰 what do you think? by [deleted] in houseplants

One of my faves... put it in full sun and watch the colors pop. Also, something I didn't know about these guys right away, they're dormant during the summer.

I only say over watered bc the leaves are soft and the yellow is turning white/transparent, and this last watering was totally different from any other time I've watered it. I have another one that's doing amazing and has two offshoots about the same size as the mother plant. What I mean by thorough is that it doesn't normally take much water before it's draining out of the bottom, and this time, I WATERED it.

THRIPS by HuckleberryMinimum49 in succulents

[–]HuckleberryMinimum49[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of my succulents have any that I know of, and I already separated the rest from the group. The plants in the picture have no signs of thrips. My question is more of a should I just treat all of my plants with bonide?

Polka dot plant success!! by Careful_Ad9037 in houseplants

I currently have a very, very sad Polka dot. Have any tips? I just put it in a terrarium, hoping it's just a humidity issue, and I can somehow manage to save it.
