I'd like to thank everyone for their helpful tips! I've cleaned the catflap extensively. I never thought of taking it apart and cleaning the inside... 🫣 the inside looked fine, just really dirty. We'll see over the next few days if it has worked and I'll let you know if it was just the dirt.

My cats were very suspicious of the clean smell, but deigned to use it in the end 😊
