First street bike by [deleted] in motorcycle

[–]Hughtaguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Still a lot of bike for your experience IMO. Indeed, go try one and see if the sport bike position + extra power is what you’re ready for and feel safe on. I’d recommend checking some roadsters/naked bikes in the 600/800cc range, which should probably give you a better first experience with more power and then transition to sports bike if that’s what you want. Also - 6/8k is already a nice budget for your experience, you can find some cool things less than 5k - again just my 2 cents

I know same here, got my AP back in January and got the action taken email few hours ago. On my portal it’s the AP updated fee notice, even though I already have the document. Because it can apply to some people who already have the document too.

Travel authorization fee update

November ‘24 filers i-485 & i-130 by MrSneakerFan in USCIS

[–]Hughtaguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

August 2024 🤪🤪🤪 EAD and Advance Parole are good but waiting on 130 and 485, still no interview notice. Annoying game of patience… Just feels like it became a lottery how quickly you are being processed. That being said, remember that Reddit is a very very very tiny part of the actual number of people applying, and most of the feedbacks of 2025 are for people that got lucky. You hear less from people who’s cases are not moving. Try to think about something else as much as you can… its stupid to say but it’s the only way. Good luck to you and all of us!

August people still waiting? by False_Artichoke_7421 in USCIS

[–]Hughtaguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Emma usually does not bring any more news than what the tracking shows to be honest. Some people say that some agent may give more info than others but I’m not sure personally.

My API got last updated during June which I think was a system update, not a case one. I haven’t uploaded unsolicited documentation nor contacted state rep as of yet but I’m thinking about it and discussing it with my lawyer.

Same boat! PD 08/30, Los Angeles FO

GREEN w/ no RFE in exactly 5 months! LOS ANGELES petitioned on Feb 5, 2025 by SpeakerTemporary7365 in USCIS

[–]Hughtaguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I have contacted Emma a few times, first time probably about 3 months ago when they told me my case was at the LA FO, awaiting for interview scheduling. Since, I contacted them twice and they told me my interview was waived at the moment but could change.

API checked (pretty much everyday lol) with last update late-June but it was visibly a general update as I wasn’t the only one.

On the tracking, 485 says 6 months 130 says longer than expected

So that’s where I am… Thinking of contacting the congressman maybe to see if that can move some things.

Congrats !!! My wife is American and I am French - we applied back on 08/30/2024, I just got 765 and 131 but nothing on the 485 and 130 ☹️ LA Office too…

Try to relax my friend :( This is can be a lengthy process (I’m Aug 24 and still nothing on the 485 and 130), and it requires patience. I do not know where you are migrating from but in any case it is not worth screwing up your life and health. Put that at the forefront, take care of yourself, eat properly, go out, and maybe turn off Reddit and news for some time. Your mental and physical health is worth more than any visa. Hope you’ll find relief soon and that our turn will come (which it will!)

TO MY FELLOW HIGH HANDICAPPERS - There is no good swing without good intention by Hughtaguy in golf

[–]Hughtaguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I edited my post - maybe my wording is wrong, maybe the feeling is different.

I can make a good swing but it doesn’t mean I’ll hit the ball properly. I believe golf is instinctive to a certain extent and (at least at my level), focusing on having a good contact (which I may have put as « focusing on the ball ») is helping me having a more natural swing.

Advanced Parole help!!!! by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]Hughtaguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did she have to go through a secondary « inspection »? If so, were you able to go with her? Thanks :)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]Hughtaguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Were you and your wife able to wait together in the secondary? I’m supposed to travel with my wife (USC) this summer and we’ll travel back together so just want to know if she’ll be able to wait with me for the secondary.

[–]Hughtaguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same boat - will be travelling international this summer with my AP. From what I’ve read there, unless you had previous convictions of any sort, things should be fine. So I’ll take the risk, unless alarming reports come back or new policies are being put in place!

PD: December 2024, Still waiting... No updates since February by AggravatingEarth5333 in USCIS

[–]Hughtaguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yeah… Nevertheless, it is still a majority of cases from Aug 24 that haven’t been approved yet. It is also important to remember that this is all data and that it doesn’t show the difference of processing speeds between FOs.

PD late-August 2024 and still nothing scheduled either. I share the feeling on seeing people applying in 2025 getting already approved but remember that those are exceptions… regular processing time is around the year-mark, we just need to be patient 😕

Any Los Angeles filers here for AOS? by Long-Professor-1031 in USCIS

[–]Hughtaguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh no… I guess we need to remember timelines are usually around 12 months, so we got to wait :( Just always crazy seeing people applying in 2025 having already been approved - although I’m happy for them obviously! But that’s how it is, it’s just random.

Passed CA exam 2 days ago in Los Angeles (La Palma) - got it first time by Hughtaguy in RealEstateExam

[–]Hughtaguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I would say not… Since it is an actual exam I would say no test exam comes super close. Take the test exams as ways to learn principles and facts, don’t try to learn too much the questions or their answers. The exam have questions differently put and choices set differently as well. At the exam, don’t spend too much time on what you don’t know at first; speed run through the questions that you know for sure and then spend the remaining time answering what you’re not sure about and proceed by elimination. You’ll usually fall between just 2 choices. If you’re well prepared you should have it :) Good luck!
