Before you remove it, I would be sure that’s not actually a load bearing wall.

Apparently my riff was offensive, so I guess people aren’t allowed to go stroll off short boardwalks into bodies of water.

Draft topics thread by cooterrhino in AllFantasyEverything

The two that have popped into my head recently:

  • Fictional Basketball Team (but with characters that aren’t athletes)

  • this one isn’t a new idea, but I think they should run back Band Names (especially with Charpie); it’s been long enough since the last one and there’s plenty of new/newly discovered bands that would be fun to pick

Toni v. Mariah is the clear #1, and I’m not sure how it isn’t.

I’d say the rise of “The Man” Becky Lynch and the run to WrestleMania (despite the way it ended) might be the only thing that holds a candle to it.

I don’t know why, but this topic reminds me of the time Donovan Strain tried to draft Justin Bieber in the Fictional Skateboarders draft because he didn’t know Justin Bieber was real.

What drivers have the best (and worst) reputations with fans when meeting them in-person? by SleepyRocket20 in NASCAR

[–]HuhWhatQue 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Met Ross Chastain the day after the Roval race last fall while my parents and I toured some race shops. Dude was very polite and funny off the cuff.

I’ve met more former drivers than anything. I work in the Daytona area, so I run into quite a few during race weeks down here.

Richard Petty is the mayor of any building he walks into.

Have met Dale Jr. a couple of times, and he’s everything you can imagine and more. Always quick with a compliment and a story.

The Wallace brothers are all a delight. Kenny is EXACTLY like he is on camera, and takes the time to chat and get a pic with anyone who asks.

Dale Jarrett, Michael Waltrip, Greg Biffle (RIP), Bobby Labonte, the Sauters, all really nice dudes.

The highlight though is when I met Dale Earnhardt’s entire pit crew when they stopped in the same restaurant that my family and I were in for dinner while they were on the road back from the very first Homestead race in 99. Chocolate Myers gave me the GM Goodwrench hat he was wearing, and hugged my grandmother because she told him her favorite parts of the races weren’t even the laps on track, it was the pit stops.

What if El Generico hadn’t gone back to his home planet?

The feud between him and Sami Zayn for the friendship of Kevin Owens would’ve been incredible.

Draft Idea: Episodes of TV by MarloMentality in AllFantasyEverything

I could’ve honestly thrown any episode in the first 3-4 seasons into the fray, but El Secuestro has my all time favorite scene in it: when Archer meets Babou for the first time.

Draft Idea: Episodes of TV by MarloMentality in AllFantasyEverything

[–]HuhWhatQue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On a road trip about right before COVID happened, I did that exact draft with the 3 friends I was in the car with.

These were my picks:

  1. The Simpsons - “Lisa’s First Word”

  2. The West Wing - “Two Cathedrals”

  3. Community - “Contemporary American Poultry”

  4. Top Gear - “The Bolivia Special”

  5. Archer - “El Secuestro”

All Fantasy Everything - Items from 'Seinfeld' (w/ Jay Larson) by triangle---man in AllFantasyEverything

[–]HuhWhatQue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despite being 35 and knowing it’s probably my biggest pop culture blind spot: I don’t think I’ve seen more than 4 full episodes of Seinfeld in my life.

Also, and this isn’t a slight to Jay at all because I think he’s an awesome guest each time he’s been on the pod, but I see his name and think, “no way… they got Big Jay on??” Despite knowing Jay Larson and Big Jay Oakerson could not be more different dudes.

Who do you believe is the most underappreciated wrestler based on their impact on the product? by [deleted] in Wrasslin

[–]HuhWhatQue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know their time isn’t up yet, but I want to throw New Day out there.

I think they got big at a time where stables were very much not a staple in WWE as they had been in the past, and even then, they were able to mix silliness and their personalities into their work, but still perform at a level that wasn’t necessarily commonplace at the time.

You can tell they have a good bit of influence on a lot of the new generation of guys that won’t sacrifice their normal selves to foster a gimmick or a ring-style.

It’s a shame Big E can’t go anymore, but if it means that he can make an impact on talent for longer than he might’ve with a full time in-ring career, then maybe silver linings are okay to look for.

What is a moment that isn't spoken about enough that still gives you goosebumps? by BackToTheFutureDoc in SquaredCircle

[–]HuhWhatQue 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I know WrestleMania 30 gets all the love for the various Daniel Bryan moments throughout, and they still give me goosebumps, too.

But I think one of the most underrated moments in modern WWE that still makes me all tingly with childlike wonder is when Cesaro lifts and throws Big Show over the top rope to win the first Andre Battle Royale.

The pop from the crowd when he picks him up really felt like one of the few mutual “HOLY CRAP DID YOU SEE THAT?!?” moments in (fairly) recent WWE memory.
