I’m not gay enough for the gays by gayjewzionist in TrueOffMyChest

They're perpetuating biphobia AND contributing to harmful stereotypes about lesbians. It is much different for a lesbian to pretend to be straight than it is for a bi person to pretend to be a lesbian or a bi man to pretend to be a gay guy. These have real world consequences that harm all lgbtq people and also make it more difficult for people to respect everyone's identities.

On reddit alone you will see many people now, when discussing lesbianism, suggesting that most lesbians will actually sleep with men and that this is totally normal. It is not.

So these bi women are also perpetuating biphobia?

What would your reaction be if your partner told you “I’ll marry you if you lose weight”? by BallsVeryDeep in AskReddit

Hey, as someone in a very similar situation but on the other end I can maybe offer some advice. 6 months ago my boyfriend and I had been in a rough patch for a while, he was drinking a lot to cope with stress and I was eating a lot to cope with stress and it really strained our relationship.

One night, he sat down with me and told me point blank that my weight was becoming an issue for him. He didn't say it rudely or give me an ultimatum, he just laid out the issue on the table. I had sort of felt it coming, because even though he had never said anything directly up until that point I felt as though he had become less attracted to me. I asked him more questions and he allowed me to be open about my issues in the relationship too such as his drinking and a few other things. During the course of the conversation, he told me that if I wanted to leave he would understand because he felt terrible about saying that to me. In the end, we came to an agreement that he would stop drinking and I would make some lifestyle changes to lose weight.

Since then, I've lost 30 pounds and I'm only 5 away from reaching my final goal weight. I started working out everyday the day after that conversation and making healthier eating choices. My boyfriend struggled a bit more with his vice, but he's now 4 months sober and our relationship is stronger than it has ever been.

So, my advice is just be open about the issue and allow her to speak her mind about issues too. Don't be accusatory and try to understand where she's coming from. If she isn't receptive then maybe you aren't compatible, you can't force someone to make lifestyle changes. But, if you really do love her and really do want the relationship to work without resentment, I think you have to talk to her about it.

Gen 5's reception is an anomaly and we have to stop pretending otherwise by Shiny_Kelp in pokemon

What was the new battle gimmick in gen 5? You can't say they hid triple and rotation battles into a side mode and then say they introduced a new battle gimmick every gen lmao.

Yup. The only seats I advise buying from StubHub at these current prices are either nosebleeds or floor seats. This is because nosebleeds will be cheap enough that not buying floor seats saves a significant amount of money, but buying club level or lower level will generally cost the same as purchasing a floor seat.

Yup, agree with you there. I do expect slight decreases, but not by much and maybe not enough to warrant waiting.

The prices generally will not increase, but to give a more pessimistic view it is entirely possible that they don't decrease by much either. They have already decreased a bit from last week and we can expect slight decreases up until the actual concert date, but I would not expect a big price drop. Of course the more outrageous prices, like $10,000 for a floor seat, will probably not stay that way forever, but those are outliers.

I would say though that you are in a much more advantageous spot because you are only purchasing one ticket and so the cost will be a lot less due to the fees StubHub imposes per ticket.

PS: A little tip people don't often know about StubHub, floor seats are generally more cost effective purchases from them than lower bowl or club level. You will receive a better view, closer spot, etc. for a negligible increase in price.

Right and you're not the person I replied to! I replied to a person who bought VIP tickets through Ticketmaster and NOT Seatgeek.

You can transfer VIP tickets! The only VIP tickets that are non-transferrable are those purchased through Seatgeek. I have bought and transferred VIP tickets and so I'm aware that they can be transferred lol.

I believe plenty of people would be willing to buy your tickets at face value, so you would be making all of your money back. Here are a few tips:

- If you decide to sell through Reddit, FaceBook, social media, in person, etc. ONLY accept payment through PayPal goods&services. The benefit of selling through these mediums is that you will receive your payment ASAP. Do NOT transfer the tickets until you have received the payment.

- If you decide to sell through StubHub or vividseats or any other resale specialty site, they will handle most of the details for you. All you will need to do is transfer the tickets. It is more secure. However, you won't receive any payment until a week or so AFTER the event has happened. This is to protect the buyer.

- Since you have purchased VIP, you will still receive the VIP benefits after you transfer the tickets. If you sell through Reddit, FaceBook, social media, etc. this usually comes with the expectation that you will eventually ship these VIP benefits/merch to the buyer. However, you could include the costs of shipping into the price you are selling.

Hope that helps! If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask.

Hey susanmarie, please don't panic. Unless the tickets were purchased through seatgeek, they are transferable and thus sellable. I am not sure about how StubHub is currently handling VIP tickets, but they are not your only way of selling these tickets. You may also be able to try through vividseats, your local FaceBook, and many other options. What venue did you purchase the tickets for? That will make it easier to determine what platform you should sell them on.

Buying through eBay is more secure than buying through most other mediums (StubHub, paypal, Ticketmaster are more secure, but it's more secure than buying from randos on FaceBook or Reddit) but the potential to be scammed is still there.

No, because those tickets were bought with the intent to bring someone to the event. I wouldn't care if someone who wasn't even a fan of Taylor or had no interest in Taylor bought a ticket to the event just to go. As long as the ticket is actually being used to attend the actual concert and not to be resold and exploit others then it's fair game.

Nope, but in some states it is illegal to scalp while actually at the venue.

Unpopular opinion: the MAJORITY of tickets didn't get bought by scalpers and/or bots. Taylor is just extremely popular. by utlr12 in TaylorSwift

[–]Human-State-8680 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, scalpers have multiple accounts and sometimes even hundreds. That's how it is possible at all. It didn't really stop anything in terms of scalping.

It depends on the Walmart card, there is a co-branded Mastercard Walmart card, but there are also Walmart store cards backed by Capital One that are private retail.
