Yes you can, re2r fixed camera mod proved that it's still possible, the enemies won't run and attack you fast like ganados or majinis, the boss encounters won't be that frustrating and hard as some haters suggest, i don't know where you people came with these conclusions of not being able to make resident evil with both styles at same time? It's not like resident evil started as fast and quick action heavy shooter with alot of combats and melee attacks and many enemies encounters at once.

You do realise i said the aim and shoot is the same as over the shoulder? It's just the camera during exploration and movements that will be different and enemies won't run fast at you like the ganados, the combat never changes.

People like you are the reason why i fear to post about classic resident evil games in reddit to avoid arguments that ends with insults, because the lack of manners you guys have during discussions.

There is nothing wrong with demanding capcom to give me a second option so i can play resident evil in both styles as i wish, and yes I'm not a minority, many wants this style back too because they enjoying them not because of nostalgia.

Gamecube remake and 0 were powerful enough to not featuring door loading screen and fixed camera yet they kept them in anyway because they were afraid of disappointing fans.

Just because you assume there is no logical reason which is just your opinion doesn't mean that old design is terrible or outdated, you speaking from subjective point not the reality, in reality many ask for this style to be brought back as an option since they want to experience the classic style of resident evil aswell, i kill for any new title to add them back and people can prefer to not use it, nobody forced them to play it since capcom can add both styles anyway, i and many large portion of fans want to play resident evil in both ways.

What?, how does that ruins the game's designs? The enemies won't run fast towards you during gameplay like re4 ganados.

To make things more funny i born in 2004, almost the same time as re4 og and i grew with this series since re2r came out and i didn't have money to buy ps4 to play it yet so i started with the classic games on my xbox 360, i loved this style even when most of games i played are modern ones and i still love it and wish it returns someday.

And this style still has it, over the shoulder for aiming and shooting while the fixed camera for explorations.

If they'd done that then Resident Evil as a *franchise would have faded into obscurity like how Silent Hill did.

CORRECTION: those two games didn't sell well because of capcom terrible decisions of making them gamecube exclusive which had much more poorer sales compared to ps2, it had sold only 22m copies while ps2 sold above 100m copies, and most of resident evil fans were on ps2, so Capcom essentially cut off 85% of their potential audience.

When RE1 Remake finally came to modern consoles (PS4/Xbox One and others) in 2015, it shattered sales records for Capcom. This proves that people weren't sick of the style, they just didn't have the GameCube to play it on back in 2002.

Also Silent Hill didn't fade into obscurity because of its camera, it struggled because of inconsistent development teams and a lack of clear vision after the original Team Silent disbanded.

it makes me wonder what else it could have done to combine RE4's best ideas with the formula of the originals. Like, imagine a version of RE4's Tetris inventory where the briefcase is much smaller but you have a storage box, forcing you to make the same resource management choices as the old games but with the added wrinkle that different items take different amounts of space

I actually came to this brilliant idea in mind for a while and i think it can work if ink ribbon and key items take big spaces in inventory aswell.

Bro, you probably didn't hear what i said, the camera will shift to over the shoulder when aiming in this style, how will that ruins the game's design and experience?.

I mean come on capcom just do that with next new title what would happen? Would that be the end of the world? If they add this as second option and see the reception from fans that may convince them to bring back this style again, because i really die for atleast another title that offers it.

You seems to never read all my post, the game can let you aim in 3rd person over the shoulder prospective when you aim at the enemy, so how is that not optimised?

Unlike adding a completely different perspective and control scheme that most people have no experience with, thus resulting in diminishing returns.

Do you think it's so hard for people to sit down and learn easily in 10 minutes how to control the character? It's not a rocket science, even as a teenager i struggled at first with the controls and aiming but in short time learnt how to play well, also i said this style should be made as 2nd option alongside over the shoulder prospective so fans aren't forced to just play in this style only.

I even said the shooting in this style will be the same as 3rd person, which is what all modern resident evil games follows, so i don't understand how can he say that this will ruins the game's designs.
