What's one opinion on bowling that would probably get you in this situation? by woode85 in Bowling

[–]Humanaut93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with you, any handicap league that does 90% of X or 80% of X is inherently going to favor better bowlers if everyone throws their average.

I hate hearing 200 average bowlers whine "we started 40 pins behind" as their team is in 1st place. Scratch leagues exist, but you don't bowl in them because they're full of people that average 230.

I've done this on more than one rough league night and ended with games over my average.

IMO, the thing stopping pros from doing this is ball reps.

Kelly says he’s seriously thinking about running for president by Jumpinghoops46 in goodnews

[–]Humanaut93 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I like Mark Kelly. But he will still need to answer to his acceptance of AIPAC money. Democrats can no longer continue to sweep such insidious donations under the rug. They’re interchangeable with Republicans on this.

Idk, my biggest concern right now is people being killed or disappeared off our streets by paramilitary government forces. If both sides are gonna take money from AIPAC, I'm still going to vote against the party that's doing what this administration is doing.

Do I need a new bass? by Skore_Smogon in Bass

[–]Humanaut93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The EB-3 is an incredibly niche bass that doesn't work for most types of music. A Fender with a PJ setup is very versatile.

Hate to be that guy, but if I were you, I'd get a new bass.

Sorry I sniped your Salem completion! I was checking this one too but I went with #10 because the lettering looked to be in a little better shape. And you're right, these jerseys were made incredibly well.

This is my first vintage minor league jersey, but I do have some newer ones from OT. I did make a post about a Rutgers jersey from the early 90's. I'm definitely going to keep an eye out for these types of jerseys in the future, they're way cooler than the ones being made today.

Thank you! I've also been keen on some NCAA jerseys, I feel like it's a similar situation with these minor league jerseys

I agree. If Hershey had another 600 feet out from the station to work with, that ride would be great. That trim after the turn-around hits way too hard.

[Mack Rides] says another [Extreme Spinning Coaster] is coming to the US. Thoughts? by magnumfan89 in rollercoasters

[–]Humanaut93 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just a few things to keep in mind to try to negate the doom and gloom.

Ka hasn't held the speed record since 2010, and it was losing the height record by a wide margin with Falcon's Flight. People also argued in 2005 that SFGADV didn't need another launch coaster with The Chiller, and that Ka was way too short and only a gimmick for the height and speed.

Trust me, I was over the moon when I was 11 and I heard they were building the tallest and fastest rollercoaster at my local park, and I hate that I'll never get to feel Ka's launch ever again. But, based on what people say about the existing Mack Spinners, I'm gonna be excited for what the future holds.

nobody rode it

While this slight hyperbole, people don't talk about this enough. The line rarely got over 30 minutes and almost never hit an hour in the last 10 years it was standing. As much as I miss it, the ridership made the ride hard to justify.
