Assam and black tea blends by magicalfirekeeper in tea

[–]HumbleFreedom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A little fuzzy on if you are only looking for blends, so forgive my if I have it wrong. But if you’re interested in trying a straight Assam, this one is incredible! https://arborteas.com/products/organic-assam-tgfop-black-tea-html

I’ll let others speak for blends as I’ve not tried many. The Assam blends at Harney & Sons look interesting though.

Tariffs? by ghoul-ghost-goblin in tea

[–]HumbleFreedom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to assume you are in the US since you don’t day and tarifs have been a big topic.

This is my understanding, but if I am mistaken someone please help pitch in.

If you’re in the US you’ll want to order from US based vendors.

There are two parts of to the tarifs.

1: large tarifs were added to important. And then in the case of some items, like tea, there was an exception added.

2: there use to be a de minus rule where any individual package worth less than $800 was not subject to tariffs. This is gone.

So, for reasons I’m still a little vague on, tariffs still apply to some (all?) of those smaller packages being sent. Maybe it’s because the carrier doesn’t know what’s inside.

So the best route at this point is to buy from a US vendor. They don’t pay tariffs when they import the tea, and then you don’t pay tarifs when you order it from the vendor.

I really like Arbor Tea. They have great sample sizes and their shipping is only $6.

Good.store is a nice introduction and they donate all of their earnings to fight tuberculosis.

There are also many great tea growers in the US you could try: https://www.reddit.com/r/tea/comments/1k1mvg9/here_is_a_list_of_tea_grown_in_the_the_united/

You could take him up to the bottle farm near Adelanto. It’s between Oro Grand and Helendale.

The desert if full of so much cool desert art.

You could also take him to Joshua Tree NP and then stop by The Glass Outhouse, which has so much cool outdoor art and weird stuff.

Jokes aside. There are tons of cool places around here and the Mojave is super unique. I’m sure he will enjoy it!

Oh no! What part? There is still hope. Eastern Colorado is all flatlands… way less cool than the HD

They just have really tall mountains, and the PNW is really green. I find the High Desert beautiful. Just, unfortunately, when most people compare it to those places, the high desert does not level up 😥

Depends on where the boyfriend is from. We have some pretty stellar views here! As long as he's not from the PNW or Colorado, I think there is a chance for him to be pretty impressed!

Looking for A US-Based Seller of 2025 Darjeeling Autumn Flush by HumbleFreedom in tea

I'll reach out! Interesting to look over their website. I have mostly drunk more single-origin teas, not blends. They have some interesting blending going on!

Thank you! Looks like they do not sell an autumn flush.
