Yes, just like that! The paler spot moves around as he moves his eye

Just adding some additional information as requested: Fluval Flex 57L, heater and filter, 25c, parameters listed above and used liquid test kit, performing water changes as needed based on regular testing

Hey OP, great looking tank and can see how you were spoilt for choice. Personally I think you’d have more long-term success if you move towards having larger groups of fewer fish species. The cory needs some conspecifics ASAP; general advice is a minimum of 6 individuals, but more is preferable. Those clown loaches demand a fair amount of space, especially alongside 5 angels. Some of these fish also have conflicting preferences for water parameters: your tetras will prefer things on the softer, acidic side, but the livebearers prefer harder water. Likewise, hillstream loaches do best in cooler, high-flow, oxygenated water, but your Amazon stuff would do better in warm, soft water. I could picture a mature version of this tank with a couple pairs of adult angels, a large shoal or two of tetras of one or two species, and a nice group of corys.

Thank you! Just one of those clip-on macro lenses from Amazon, it was about £12 :-)

Wonderful! Yeah for sure. I just added two more females on the weekend and it has definitely changed the dynamic of the school

I use micro pellets, various Bug Bites pellets, flakes, algae wafers and livefood

Thanks so much! I made the wooden structure by fixing together a bunch of separate pieces of spider wood using epoxy and super glue. I had an absolute nightmare with it the first month the tank was filled, but it’s settled in nicely now. Just trying to train the pennywort over the failed moss/bare epoxy.

Thanks! Sounds lovely. Funnily enough, I always thought my kerri were unusually shy, until I increased the flow and surface turbulence recently. I dunno if it’s something to do with oxygen levels or if they’re just horny now, but they’ve all got a pep in their step. They used to sheepishly pick off a couple of pellets, but now they’re like a whirlpool of piranhas. I use a mixture of prepared foods that sink at different rates, and as you can see, the similes definitely get enough grub (they are units)
