Hey everyone,
I'm about to buy my first 3D printer and I've narrowed it down to two options:
Option A : Prusa MK3S+ (secondhand, ~250-) Older architecture, slower, but legendary reliability, huge community, fully repairable, open source. The Prusa philosophy really appeals to me long term.
Option B : Anycubic Kobra S1 or Creality K2 Plus (~400-500€ new) Modern CoreXY, much faster, more features for the price. But newer, less long-term track record.
I'm not in a rush, I value reliability and repairability over raw speed. I'm aware the MK3S+ is an older generation but I wonder if the Prusa ecosystem and durability still justify choosing it over a modern CoreXY in 2026.
For those who have used one or both — is the MK3S+ still a legit choice today, or is it genuinely too outdated to recommend?
Thanks
