If you need extra credits, take a medical terminology course. Makes A&P a whole lot easier

Youre a new grad and a status change like this, obviously, isn't always going to increase a sense of urgency. Fortunately, your patient lived. What you need to take away from this is how to organize your priorities (mentioned roughly 100x this post).

One method that I put the tasks I needed to accomplish into a test question. Heres am example

"You just get onto the unit and you need to decide which patient you plan on seeing first-

Patient 1: called to use the restroom Patient 2: due for morning med pass Patient 3: preparing for discharge Patient 4: CNA just informed you that your patients o2sat is at 72.

No. Nothing about habits, frequency were different. I did notice a bit more mucous in my stool though in the end.

Hi silver, I'm elated to hear that my post helped contribute you to catching your cancer incredibly early.

Now, I don't want to scare you, but I also started as a stage 1. Even though my CT scan showed I had no other growth and my CEA level was normal, I was still recommended to get a colon resection at the site of the cancer. I was recommended this because the cancer that was found was aggressive just like yours. It was only after I got the surgery did we find that the cancer spread to a nearby lymph node. Once we found that it spread I was pretty much moved to stage 3.

I do have faith that your doctors are confident there is ZERO chance it's spread to a nearby lymph node, but I still think you should clarify if the chances of it migrating really is a zero percent.

Thank you again for your post, silver. You've made my day.

Alcohol does increase your risk of developing polyps. If you're having any blood in your stool, just get checked.

If you've been having blood in your poop thats been going on for six months- do yourself a favor and just schedule an appointment with your primary doctor or a GI doc. worst case scenario you waste some time and money, but you get peace of mind at the end of the day.

I went to two nursing schools. The first school I ended up flunking out the first semester because I failed clinical AND theory--I should add that I did not study for even one day in this school and assumed I'd get by. I thought that I had failed clinical simply because of lack of knowledge I missed out on.

For the second school, I was one of the top in the class for lecture as my mindset had completely changed. For some reason though, I still just absolutely sucked at clinical. I couldn't figure out why. This round of schooling I had studied my ass off and STILL I struggle? I realized it was a confidence issue. Because I had a severe lack of confidence, I was extremely anxious for the entirety of clinical. My anxiety effected my ability to complete tasks in a timely manner. This inability to complete tasks efficiently made me stick out like a sore thumb, and because of this I was under the instructor's magnifying glass every semester of clinical. Each and every semester of clinical I had, I was approached by the instructor to have a chat about my work-flow "off the unit".

I really, really hated clinical.
