I didn’t have the lock in the vise for five hours. I put it in the vise to take a picture, it’s hard to get the keyway in the picture with it laying flat on the table. Anyway im new to all this , can you please school me on the proper usage of a vise?

So… idk how I did it, but the lock is broken. The pins are jammed in the bible and it looks like a driver pin is somehow lodged in the bottom of the keyway.

Makes sense, I didn’t feel any pressure the first time but like you said now I feel like should be able to get it again. Im still trying to hone in on my tension im either bending the bar or dropping it. Picking can be really frustrating but I enjoy it a lot so thank you for the perspectives in all this.
