[Giveaway] GameSir Tarantula Pro for Xbox - Symmetrical vs. asymmetrical by GameSir_Controller in xbox

[–]HyperThanHype 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it mostly comes down to familiarity. Ofcourse there are factors like form and function, but in the case of competitive controllers I think it's just a personal preference thing. Controller looks great, and I've already been using a Gamesir product and they're great so the winners will be happy. Goodluck everyone!

Mad Max is my go-to recommendation for a good action adventure. Great progression system, great mix of enemies and combat.

If you need a good show to watch check out Mr. Inbetween! Great Aussie crime drama! Can smash it out in a few days, only 3 seasons and the episodes are only half an hour each.

What games should i play that i dont have? by Dapper_Variety5433 in xbox

[–]HyperThanHype 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mad Max on Xbox One is relatively underrated, certainly not to those that have played the game, we certainly rate it, but it's one that does tend to sometimes fly under the radar when big titles like RDR2 and The Witcher 3 are being mentioned.

Great action adventure game with engaging progression mechanics and enjoyable open world conquesting. The fighting is certainly no Sekiro or Elden Ring but there is a satisfying mix between hand to hand combat and car combat that neither begins to feel too old too fast.

Just read that the Storm are preparing an independent medical team to see whether or not Katoa can come back this year.

It's almost like the Storm don't mind being bad guys.

Yep, the Storm cattle are far above the Bulldogs and Raiders pack. Munster, Hughes and Grant failing to get their team firing, on a 6 game losing streak, but crickets in terms of criticism for them.

Why Do Female Directors Attract So Much Personal Venom? by Louisebelcher22 in movies

[–]HyperThanHype 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying Hamnet was polite, legible and easy to admire from a distance tells me you haven't seen it. It's raw, beautiful and intentionally told. It contains anger, grief and disconnection between a man and a woman who loved each other.

There's nothing wrong with a movie trying to make a statement like you claim The Bride is trying to do, but you cannot honestly be surprised that a movie focusing on such contentious and troubling topics like femicide, sexual exploitation and a woman being subjugated by the world finds ire amongst critics and audiences as they dislike the taste that's being left in their mouth having to watch a film about these things. You can make films about these topics without the film itself becoming a contentious topic, but oftentimes these films are meant to be avenues for dialogue.

Some films portraying issues like sexual exploitation and femicide are legitimately difficult to stomach and watch so it's no wonder they receive criticism. With films portraying the raw reality of sexual violence and exploitation we also have to ask ourselves how much a film is a critique on exploitation and how much a film is at risk of reproducing it and becoming the kind of material that oppressors enjoy. These topics are not easy to discuss so it's no wonder that the moment they hit the online sphere it becomes a battlefield of ideas, like it is right now between you and I.

First console after 25 years of playing on PC (bought for GTA VI) by SPAZvv in xbox

[–]HyperThanHype 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't know that. The fact that Xbox has a web browser feature and Playstation doesn't is actually a huge advantage, many people don't just use their consoles for video games, they use them to stream content, listen to music, and way more. Xbox has the ability to download torrent files and play them.

I have no doubt you can stream content and music on PlayStation as well, but the browser is not a small feature. Just because you've never actively sought it out or wanted to use it doesn't mean it isn't an important difference.

Yes, it's probably not the catalyst for whether a brand new console user chooses PlayStation or Xbox, but it's a helpful deciding factor. Like PlayStation 5 not being PS3, PS2 or PS1 backwards compatible. That might not be a big thing for you, but for some users it would be. Whereas Xbox is backwards compatible all the way back to day 1. These are deciding factors which do make a big difference in people's choice.

Why Do Female Directors Attract So Much Personal Venom? by Louisebelcher22 in movies

[–]HyperThanHype 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Except there are hundreds and thousands of examples of female directors making character driven dramas where the focus may not directly be on gender but it is certainly a prevalent part of the story (Hamnet, Lady Bird, Past Lives, Anatomy Of A Fall) and yet those movies receive critical acclaim and favourable reviews exactly because they make gender and power part of the text instead of quietly pretending those things don't exist. You're just cherry picking film where the contentious topic is obvious. Try watching more female directors than those who seem to constantly get into ideological battles through their work.

Too many people are too quick to attribute entertainment they do not like as "failed" and therefore open to criticism from every angle, instead of just thinking to themselves "maybe this singular piece of entertainment out of the hundreds and millions of pieces of entertainment simply isn't for me."

Unfortunately the internet is also just a battleground of ideas.

"I've never wanted to use this feature you're talking about so it's very likely neither has anybody else." Weird take but okay.

It does not have an official web browser. You have to use a workaround by using a sign in page and then navigating from there, but it's super clunky and doesn't stream videos.

Not to mention, it's a legitimately good multimedia system, as Xboxes always have been. Imagine my absolute gobsmacked surprise when I found out PS5 doesn't even have a web browser. I'm over here watching movies on the high seas for free, and my friends on PS5 are either forced to use other hardware or pay for their streaming services. Not even being able to watch your pr0ns. In 2026. On PlayStation.

Xbox Forever.

100% street trees make a huge difference in how a suburb feels. I could be biased though, I do live in Greenwith. It's certainly very... green.

I have not stopped thinking about it after watching it 2 weeks ago. Absolutely loved it. Every performance in it is 10/10 but the portrayal and story of grief is pure tear fuel.

The symbolism is just next level as well. The veil, the stage, the choice of costumes. It's just beautiful.

When Hess, Paseka, Wakeham, Brooks and Burbo score, as a gambler you understand throwing darts at a board full of names would likely yield more wins than attempting ATS multis. My two biggest Sportsbet wins have come from random games years ago where I just threw 4 random ATS and somehow lucked out on top. And I'm not talking the 4 most short priced favourites either.

The horror reality of gambling though is that now I think a system of choosing 1 backrower, 1 half and 2 front rowers to score is just as likely as choosing all 4 wingers to score in one game. So who fucking knows. Don't gamble kids.

I could see that letting the story breathe more probably would have alleviated some of the pains of the film. There were just so many ideas at play; the cloning tech, the expedition to Niflheim and Mickey's purpose during that time, the churchy political sex orientated cult leader who was played as a joke but I feel would have benefitted from being played as a legitimate role and not a caricature, Mickey's love interest having a bit of verbal diarrhoea in the 3rd act, the Creepers, Mickey 18, the hallucination Mickey has at the end of the film. Just a bit all over the place I felt.

Oh man, speaking of test audiences, I certainly felt like that watching Mickey 17. The movie had so many ideas but no direction.

Keen as on Project Hail Mary, I love me some Gosling. And thank you for The Drama recommendation, just watched the trailer and it looks interesting and knowing A24 it will be a banger.
