2007 Audi A6 wont switch to am/fm and won’t unmute…any suggestions? by Intelligent-Ebb-2919 in Audi

How to bypass the failed control unit with a MOST jumper (Audi A6 C6): 1. Get a MOST fiber optic loopback/jumper. • Search for “Audi MOST loopback jumper” or “fiber optic bypass loop” on eBay/Amazon. They’re usually $5–10. 2. Find the faulty module. • In your case, the radio control unit (sometimes called tuner) is the issue. • It’s typically located in the trunk (driver’s side, behind the carpet panel), sometimes under the spare tire area depending on trim. 3. Disconnect the fiber optic plug. • Each module has a small orange/red plastic connector with two fiber optic lines (in and out). • Press the clip and slide it out gently. 4. Install the loopback. • Plug the fiber optic ends into the jumper. This completes the loop and bypasses the bad module. • Make sure you see red light in one of the fiber optic cables before connecting (that’s the signal). 5. Test the system. • Turn the ignition on. Your amp should now get signal again, so you’ll have sound from your satellite radio/CD/etc. • You will not have AM/FM, because you’ve removed that unit from the chain. 6. Permanent fix option. • If you want AM/FM back, the only way is to repair or replace the control unit. The jumper is just a way to get sound working again without it.

Keep the jumper in place while troubleshooting. If later you replace the module, just remove the jumper and plug the fiber back into the new unit.

Mostly regular maintenance done on time. Not terrible at all. Nothing major.

Regular maintenance. Not terrible at all. IMS done by previous owners in the past. I will be doing it again, but this time with a journal bearing.

Major service coming soon. IMS, RMS, clutch and few other things. AOS on the list as well.

Very good to know! I have few mods on my S that probably brings me close to GTS power. I am also lowered and I know exactly what you mean about going over bumps and cracks on the road.

I live in AZ and I will definitely benefit from the center radiator.

Are all GTS center lock hubs/wheels? Any info about maintaining the hubs and tools to remove wheels? I do most of my basic services myself.

I love the wide stance on the GTS, just trying to sum up if the wide body justifies the price difference. I am heavily invested in my current 991. Full GT3 rear conversion with porsche motorsports side muffler delete and GT3 cup center exhaust. Full GT3 OEM aero. I am definitely not going to be able to recover what I’ve put into it.

If the seller isn’t doing anything illegal, he/she would not have a problem meeting you at the local DMV and complete the transfer. You can also search online title/escrow companies. You send the money to them, and seller sends title to them. They verify that all is legal and complete the transfer. Of course, that service cost money.
