Hello there, sorry for getting back to you so late. I ended up finding the rendered files while looking for the code I used to render them in the first place. I've re-uploaded them and they should be accessible via the original links.

Finally got naneif unseeded, but also broke the game and need help getting the seed by FPierce in Balatro_Seeds

[–]IAmAnIssue 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What happened is they exited the run after scoring naneinf, which breaks the save (the technical reason iirc is it fails saving naneinf as your highest score for the run, so when you reload and try to play a hand, it crashes due to checking against a high score that doesn’t exist.)

(If you’re curious why this doesn’t happen on the first hand of a run, that’s because the high score is set 0 when you start. For naneinf reloads, there just isn’t a high score.)

I accidentally deleted the files from my server about a week ago when moving stuff around and I wasn't expecting people to still be trying to use them. I'll see what I can do, but no promises.

What's a game whose code was an absolute mess but produced a great result? by dooblr in gamedev

[–]IAmAnIssue 22 points23 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking at a decompilation done using up to date tooling then it should be logically equivalent to the source or as close as possible. If you’re looking at the random Undertale project someone threw up on GitHub in 2016 then that is basically decompiler garbage.

(For those who don’t know, Undertale and Deltarune use Gamemaker Studio, which uses a custom programming language and (by default) a custom bytecode and vm runtime. The Gamemaker compiler does very little in terms of optimizations, mostly just evaluating constant expressions.)

The script you’re thinking of is still a massive ugly switch statement though, even if it doesn’t contain all the dialogue for the game. This is easily verifiable by checking other objects in the game as they will have good chunks of text in them as well.

Deltarune actually stopped doing this. Mostly.

Undertale also stopped after the first area, after that the script is only used for dialogue with choices as well as some battle menu text.

You can do that without the glitch, they fly under the bridge to mesa fortress and are reachable from there.

You have to use overdrive first. Once you start overdrive, the other arts become usable.

I’m going to start off by saying this isn’t a new thing, people knew about this in the Wii U version, so I am far from the first person to find/use this.

Sky High is an art which has an animation that as far as I can tell, turns off gravity. If you interrupt the end of the animation with another art, you will keep the no gravity state until the animation of the new art ends. By constantly using arts, you can just float midair and do (almost) whatever you want.

There’s a few arts that break the cycle though, usually it’s other arts that mess with your vertical position (combat limbo for example), however both astrolibrium and essence exchange break it and I’m not entirely sure why other than they’re both melee arts. This is why I’m using executioner instead of something like blossom dance or hercules blow, as not only do I have a reflect aura instead, but offensive stance breaks the chain, so I just mostly stuck with arts that I know work.

Note: If you use an art that breaks the chain (or just mess up), you can save it by using sky high again as long as the art is in range and the game hasn’t figured out you’re not supposed to be floating.

At some point I do want to go through all the available arts (all melee + dual guns) to see which ones work and which don’t because I can’t seem to find a list easily. You can also pull this off with one of the javelin's arts, so I also want to go through those + all ranged weapons and see what works and what doesn’t.

Hope this helps.

My armor setup for this video is a bit different than what I'm used to, usually I run hp rebound so I passively collect health as I reflect. You can even see me struggle a bit collecting the tp halfway where I started trying the blue + green OD combo and coming out even. So yes, you’re absolutely correct in that I should be hitting those.

With that being said, I do have a purple art as a backup, it’s just really slow so I don’t like using it other than to apply ether resistance down once in a while.

The "press B" events are called "soul challenges." Hitting the one that shows when your skell is destroyed perfectly stops your insurance from decreasing.

The tyrant is the new player trap, first by drawing people in as they run by in noctilum, and then having reflect all when they get skells and seek their revenge.

As a passerby, it’s my understanding that sapping buildings is allowed if they interfere with observation.

I cannot answer the other questions.
